LOTS OF RING OF HONOR NEWS AND NOTES

By Mike Johnson on 2013-01-07 08:30:00
No major angles came out of the ROH TV Taping over the weekend. Their next taping is set for Saturday 2/2 in Baltimore, Maryland. That will allow several of their talents to work the National Pro Wrestling Day afternoon card in Philadelphia.

The latest edition of ROH TV is online at www.rohwrestling.com.

Ring of Honor is now selling awesome replicas of the different championship belts used over the course of their history. They are amazing, but also pricey. You can see them at this link.

The promotion's next iPPV will be their 3/2 Anniversary show in Chicago Ridge, IL. They will hold a TV Taping on Sunday 3/3 as well. We'll be getting comments from several ROH talents as to their favorite ROH memories on PWInsiderTV in the weeks to come.

ROH returns to Dearborn, Michigan on Friday 1/18 at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center featuring The Briscoes vs. The American Wolves for the ROH Tag Team titles (yes, please!), ROH TV champ Adam Cole vs. Jimmy Jacobs, Steve Corino vs. Jay Lethal and more featuring ROH champion Kevin Steen, Roderick Strong, Charlie Haas, Kyle O’Reilly and Tadarius Thomas.

The next night, Saturday 1/19, the promotion returns to Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the Turner Hall with the same crew, headlined by a great four way featuring ROH champion Kevin Steen vs. Eddie Edwards vs. Roderick Strong vs. Michael Elgin. You can tell that one of the goals for 2013 is to put on stronger matches on house shows that can sell to DVD buying fans. Really good move and a nod back to what first put ROH on the map. Other bouts set for that show are Davey Richards vs. Kyle O'Reilly, Matt Hardy vs. BJ Whitmer, and The Briscoes & Jay Lethal vs.Steve Corino & Jimmy Jacobs & Rhino.

ROH is doing an angle where Charlie Haas' language and actions are too much for their TV product to get over his "Outlaw" status. A funny side note is that there is at least one indy in NYC that stopped booking him last year for just that reason, so there is some truth to it.

Matt Hardy is being booked here as "The Self Proclaimed Icon."

ROH returns to Cincinnati on 2/16, Asheville, NC on 3/30 and of course NYC on 4/5 with a big "Supercard of Honor" iPPV. 5/4 in Toronto is also an iPPV.

There is talk of a Philadelphia return in the Fall of 2013.
