SECOND, MORE DETAILED REPORT FROM LAST NIGHT'S SMACKDOWN TAPING, MORE RUMBLE ENTRANTS ANNOUNCED

By Paul Cormier on 2012-12-31 08:53:25

Saturday Morning Slam Taping

Alex Riley beat Mark Jinks
Natalya beat Alicia Fox
Sheamus beat Michael McGillicutty in a fun comedy match

Main Event Taping

The Miz and Michael Cole kicked things off. Antonio Cesaro came out and had a war of words with Miz.

Antonio Cesaro beat The Great Khali with the Neutralizer (picture included). Cesaro is a beast. Khali had Natalya and Hornswoggle in his corner. Cesaro and Miz traded barbs after the match, obviously setting up something for down the line.

Wade Barrett and Kofi Kingston did an angle playing off of Barrett’s title win the night before in Washington D.C. Barrett indicated he was challenging the locker room to a gauntlet to show how superior he is. Kofi did commentary. Wade beat Yoshi Tatsu, JTG and Justin Gabriel. His fourth opponent ended up being Kofi who beat Barrett pretty quickly. The IC title was not on the line - this set-up the rematch on Smackdown.

Smackdown Taping

Randy Orton and Sheamus both announced themselves as entrants in the 2013 Royal Rumble. They argued in the ring over who was going to win it all. Big Show came out and told them that whoever won the Rumble was just going to get knocked out anyway so it didn’t matter. Antonio Cesaro interrupted and did his anti-American thing. Booker T came out and set-up the main event tag match with Orton and Sheamus taking on Big Show and Cesaro.

Miz beat Heath Slater in a really good match with the rest of 3MB getting sent to the back for one too many shenanigans.

Natalya, Hornswoggle and The Great Khali beat Primo, Epico and Rosa Mendes in a six person tag match.

Wade Barrett successfully defended the IC title against Kofi Kingston in a wonderful 15 minute match.

Tamina Snuka beat Layla.

Randy Orton and Sheamus beat Big Show and Antonio Cesaro with lots of heat throughout the match between Orton and Sheamus.

Dark Match

The advertised World Title Match between Sheamus and Big Show never really got started and ended up being a quick brawl that saw Sheamus lay out Big Show to close a good three hour night of tapings.
