LANCE STORM VS. JERRY LYNN ONE LAST TIME, DR. TOM PRICHARD OPENING WRESTLING SCHOOL AND MORE NEWS

By Mike Johnson on 2012-11-21 17:24:18

Pro Wrestling Syndicate, which has put on some of the most wacky and entertaining shows of the year, announced that Lance Storm would be coming out of retirement to face Jerry Lynn, one of his best ECW rivals, one final time as part of Lynn's retirement tour on 2/6/13 in Rahway, NJ. This is planned to be Lynn's final appearance on the East Coast. Lynn's current final wrestling match is expected to be March 2013 in Minneapolis, where he first broke into the business under Eddie Sharkey.

A Florida jury awarded the family of the late Chief White Owl (real name George Dahmer) $1.8 million in a lawsuit against the nursing home his family claimed caused his death via neglect in 2008.  Owl worked a number of territorites out of the Great Lakes region and the WWWF in the 1960s.  He passed away following an infection he caught at the nursing home.  The family claimed that all of their concerns fell on deaf ears until it was too late.  The Sun-Sentinel featured a piece on the lawsuit award at this link.

Dr. Tom Prichard, who was a top trainer for WWE's developmental program for many years, announced today that he is opening an official training school in Knoxville, TN in January.  The official release reads:

Next Level Wrestling School to Open January2013 in Knoxville

Former WWE Development Head Coach/Trainer, Dr. Tom Prichard to Head Program

Knoxville, TN - Next Level Training is pleased to announce it will offer “The Next Level Wrestling School” with Dr. Tom Prichard.  Prichard is the former Head of Training for World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE).  Along with two days a week of in-ring training, the wrestlers will receive a three-day a week sport specific workout regimen from the Owner of Next Level Training, former WWE Developmental Wrestler Devin Driscoll.

Next Level Training, located at 11210 Outlet Drive in Knoxville, will have a grand opening/open house on Thursday January 3, 2012 at 7 p.m. for anyone interested in training for professional wrestling.  The public is invited to come and learn about what will be offered in the plan as well as what it takes to learn professional wrestling.

Next Level Training is the leader in performance enhancement training in East Tennessee and is home to a 21,000 square foot training center where thousands of high school, collegiate, and professional athletes have trained since its inception in 2006. The training that will be provided in conjunction with the wrestling school is the most specific "professional wrestling" workout regimen in the country and is something no other wrestling school is currently offering.  All the wrestlers will be tested initially on their strength, agility, quickness and flexibility.  The wrestlers will then be trained based on their individual deficiencies. The wrestlers will also have a registered dietitian, physical therapist and supplementation expert at their disposal.  Other training methods that will be involved include a hyperbaric chamber for recovery and metabolic testing. All progress will be tracked though usage of a bod pod and monthly testing.

Prichard has been in the wrestling business for over 30 years and was the first Head Coach for the WWE developmental system in Stamford, CT beginning from 1996-2004.  He returned as Head Coach for Deep South Wrestling in McDonough, GA. and later in Tampa, FL from 2007-2012.  He has trained and helped develop superstars including The Rock, Edge, Christian, Randy Orton, Sheamus, Wade Barrett, Heath Slater and many more.  Pritchard has been responsible, or has had a hand in training and developing, talent for WWE for the last 16 years.
