WWE PAYING TRIBUTE TO ROSS, TV TAPING SCHEDULE CHANGES, MAIN EVENT DEBUT AND MORE THIS WEEK

By Mike Johnson on 2012-10-01 10:03:08
WWE will be holding a Night of Appreciation for WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross at tonight's Raw taping in Ross' hometown of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The episode will feature the fallout of CM Punk attacking Mick Foley and his faceoff with Ryback last week. John Cena is not currently advertised for Raw, although Jack Swagger has been locally, so this could be his storyline return.

With the debut of WWE Main Event on Wednesday on the Ion Network, WWE will be changing up their TV taping schedule. As we noted a few weeks back, starting today, Raw and Superstars will be taped Mondays. On Tuesdays, Smackdown and Main Event will be taped.

Internally, the plan is to kick off Main Event with some top-tier matches and talent as WWE wants a strong showing for their new network partner, particularly since Ion is broadcast traditionally in many markets, as well as carried via cable providers. So, expect more matches at the level of Sheamus vs. CM Punk early on.
