Dark Match:

*Jimmy Yang pinned Go Shiozaki (with Tony Atlas) with a moonsault.

Raw:

*Raw opens with a tribute to Killer Kowalski.

*Randy Orton comes out and says CM Punk was wrestling nobodies when he won the World title.  Orton says that since he's no longer champion, Raw has become a joke.  He ripped on Beth Phoenix and Santino Marella for acting like teenagers.  He said CM Punk was a joke and rips on the Tag champs as well.  Punk came out and went face to face with Orton.  He ripped into Orton, saying Orton had everything handed to him.  JBL, Kane and Batista come out.  Kane claims he made sure Rey Mysterio wouldn't show tonight.  Batista cleaned house.  It's going to be a Battle Royal featuring the Scramble contenders later.

*Kofi Kingston defeated Charlie Hass.  Haas came out as John Cena.

*A Chris Jericho-Shawn Michaels contract signing is announced for later.

*WWE Tag Team champs Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase confront Orton backstage.  He slaps Cody.

2008 - Shawn Michaels suffered a torn triceps during the Raw taping.

2008 - Mick Foley was officially removed from the WWE roster as his contract expired on 9/1/08.

2009 - Numerous WWE sources have noted there is a lot of heat within the company on Intercontinental champion Rey Mysterio for going forward and doing an interview with The Record in Mexico explaining his side of a recent WWE Wellness Suspension.

There was an expectation within the company over the weekend that by speaking out of turn, Mysterio put himself in a position where the company has to punish him further (possibly a fine) or else risk someone else following suit in a similar situation.

Several sources I spoke to also felt Mysterio did the interview to build sympathy for himself in the Mexican market in the event that the situation leads to his WWE departure, since Mexico would be his most likely destination in that event.

Interesting to note that Mysterio did work the Smackdown house shows over the weekend, losing to World champion CM Punk. Mysterio was initially pulled from the house shows, a decision that was reversed when the company opted to start the suspension on 9/2 in order to finish Mysterio up off television at tomorrow's Smackdown taping.

Mysterio has told wrestlers who have asked that he had a legitimate prescription for a painkiller and that the company didn't give him proper notice and time for his doctor to give them details on his prescription. He's told several that he hopes the company will reconsider his case when he has a chance to speak to management personally on Tuesday. WWE has reversed at least one Wellness violation that I can think of, but not since they began the policy of announcing violations publicly.

2009 - WTSB Radio in North Carolina reported that TNA star Christopher Daniels (Daniel Covell) was arrested on DUI charges in Smithfield, NC after he was pulled over for a traffic violation and a breathalyzer test registered he had a 0.14 blood alcohol level. He was released on $2,000 bail.

2009 - WWE broadcast Raw.  Richard Trionfo filed the following TV report:

We are live from Detroit, Michigan and your announcers are Jerry ‘I am going to take a walk . . . if you know what I mean’ Lawler and Michael ‘Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus should headline Wrestlemania 26’ Cole.

We start off with Lillian Garcia introducing the Guest Host and it is Dusty Rhodes. He comes to the ring and he has a mic. Dusty says hello to Detroit and he says reminds everyone who he is and that he is tonight’s guest host. Dusty mentions how he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in Detroit. He talks about the blue collar nature of Detroit. He says that he is proud of Cody despite the fact that he might get an attitude at times hanging around Randy Orton. He says that there is nothing that a father would not do for his son. He hopes that Cody will see the light and that it can happen tonight. Dusty talks about the I Quit Match at Breaking Point between John Cena and his son. Dusty announces that Randy Orton will be defending the title against Cody Rhodes. Dusty says that he will be in Cody’s corner tonight. There will be a special referee for this match and it will be John Cena.

Randy Orton was hearing voices and they told him to walk out to talk to Dusty. Randy has a mic and he says that it is obvious that Dusty is jealous of him. He is jealous because Cody looks up to him more than he ever looked up to Dusty. Randy says that Dusty trying to cover up his shortcomings as a father by giving him a title match is desperate. Randy says that he doesn’t know if Cody even wants the match.

Dusty says that Cody is hungrier and more athletically gifted than Dusty. Randy wants to know why he should kick Dusty in the skull again.

Cody Rhodes comes out to the ring and he has a mic. Cody says that the man Randy Orton kicked in the head two years ago is his father. Cody says that his legacy in the business runs farther than either him or Randy. Cody hopes that they are friends, but this is a golden opportunity and he will not pass it up. Cody says that he intends to become the youngest WWE Champion in history. Cody says that it isn’t personal, it is strictly business.

Randy wants to make sure he has things figured out. He is facing Dusty’s son with Dusty in Cody’s corner with John Cena as the referee. Randy says that the fix is in and Dusty tells Randy that the fix is definitely in.

We see six Divas in the back and a referee is explaining the battle royal that they are in tonight to get a shot at Mickie James.

We go to commercial.

We are back and if you loved Taker and Shawn Michaels’ match from Wrestlemania, you can watch it again on ECW.

2010 - Lucha Libre USA managing director Steve Ship stated to PWInsider.com that the current run of "Masked Warriors" episodes on MTV2 had indeed ended, but stated it was not the end of the promotion nor the series on the network.  While he confirmed that the network and LLUSA still have a 52 episode commitment, Ship noted that the plan was to always do 'seasons' and not a straight 52 weeks, similar to how other properties on the MTV Networks run short seasons and then return.  The scheduled LLUSA event on 9/9 in Corpus Christi, Texas at Whataburger Field and additional LLUSA events will continue to take place as planned, only the content will be filmed and used for the LLUSA website and MTV2's website area devoted to the series.   Ship also confirmed There will be changes for the new 'season', including the promotion taping from one location for every episode. Ship said they were not ready to announce where that location would be but would issue an announcement on the location and the new 'season' debuting when the time was right.   The promotion has continued to tape TV in New Mexico but as of this day, it has not returned to a national platform.
