Vélez, an independent talent from Puerto Rico, was featured in the most recent season of Tough Enough on the USA Network. She was eliminated due to a knee injury.
Velez was signed to a developmental deal in November 2011 shortly after being cut from the reality show. Despite some name value to her name from the series, she was re-christened Sofia in developmental.
She had been working the NXT tapings in Florida as recently as last month.
