LOOKING AT THE COMPLETE TNA AND WWE WIN/LOSS RECORDS: WEEK 27

By Darrem Bongiovanni on 2012-07-09 08:46:53

NOTES FOR WEEK 27:
Welcome to Week 27 of Darren’s Win-Loss Records Column for the week of July 2 – July 8, 2012. First of all, thank you to Mike for posting my Mid-Year Report in an easy to read 26 Page Post. I hope you all enjoyed it. This week marked the 1st week of July. We ended the week with the 1st Pay-Per-View of the month with TNA’s Destination X. Next week we will get WWE’s July offering with the Money In The Bank Pay-Per-View. Now, to this week’s news & notes.

On Raw, we had an 8-Man Tag Team Match, which was the 1st Multiple-Man Tag Team Match since the 6-Man Tag Team Match on the May 31st episode of NXT. This week we added 2 more Gimmick Matches to our list, giving us 111 Overall and 70 for WWE, with the Mixed Tag & No Disqualification Matches. It was the 4th Mixed Tag Team Match of the year. This week’s Raw marked the return of Doink The Clown, who gets a loss, as Heath Slater gets his 1st win in 10 matches. We had 2 No Contests this week, continuing the streak of 2 Raws in a row with a No Contest. The Alberto Del Rio-Sin Cara match never got started and WWE.com called the John Cena & CM Punk VS Chris Jericho & Daniel Bryan Match a No Contest, so that is what it is officially called here. This was the 5th No Contest for Punk, Bryan, & Cena.

On a special live Smackdown, we had 2 more Gimmick Matches added to our list, bringing the count up to 113 overall and 72 for WWE, with the Mixed Tag Team Match and the Battle Royal. The Mixed Tag Team Match was the 2nd one this week. The Christian VS Cody Rhodes Match was the 1st match to be re-matched in May, June, & July. The 6-Man Tag Team Match gave us the debut of Sgt. Slaughter to the list, as well as the return of Jim Duggan, who last competed on April 10, against Hunico. Ryback wrestled his 1st singles match against contracted WWE Talent in 10 weeks against Curt Hawkins. The Battle Royal was the 2nd one in 2 weeks. The Battle Royal gave the following wrestlers their 2nd match of the night: The Great Khali, Cody Rhodes, Christian, Dolph Ziggler, & Santino Marella.

On NXT, we had the debuts of more talents. Sofia Cortez, Jake Carter, Corey Graves, & Kassius Ohno all debut with a win, while Paige & Nick Rogers debut with a loss. Jake Carter, who is the son of Vader becomes the 2nd second generation wrestler to join the list behind Garett & Eric Bischoff. This week marked the 1st time that several wrestlers competed in 2 matches on the same episode of NXT, as Seth Rollins & Camacho wrestled in a singles match and then were joined by Bo Dallas & Tyson Kidd and Hunico & Michael McGillicutty, respectively for a 6-Man Tag Team Match later on. That match gave both Rollins & Dallas their 1st losses on NXT.

On Superstars, we had the 1st appearance of a non-contracted talent in Rob Cabildo, who lost to Kofi Kingston. Since Kofi is a Raw wrestler, Cabildo is listed as a Raw wrestler, even though the match was on Superstars. Zack Ryder VS Jack Swagger became the 2nd Match this week to be re-matched in June & July.

On Impact, we had 4 new wrestlers added to the list, as Flip Casanova, Kenny King, Dakota Darsow, & Lars Only made their TNA debuts. Impact gave us our 102nd Title Match of the year and 54th for TNA with Devon’s successful title defense of the World Television Title over Crimson. Speaking of the TV Title, this was Devon’s 1st defense of the title since June 14, though Hulk Hogan said that the TV Title would be defended every week.

TNA gave us our 1st Pay-Per-View of July with Destination X. Several wrestlers who made their debuts in the X-Division Championship Tournament received another chance with the Last Chance 4-Way Qualifier, therefore Dakota Darsow, Lars Only, & Rubix added another loss to their records, while Mason Andrews, by winning that match, wrestled 2 more times, defeating Kid Kash to earn a spot in the Ultimate X Final. Also, wrestling a 2nd match in the same night were Rashad Cameron, Sonjay Dutt, & Zema Ion. The 4-Way, along with the Last Man Standing Match between Styles & Daniels, and the Ultimate X Match added to our Gimmick Match count, giving us 116 Overall and 43 for TNA. Destination X also gave us 2 more Title Matches as well as Changes, with Ion winning the X-Division Championship and former Champion Austin Aries becoming the TNA World Heavyweight Champion, bringing those totals to 104 Overall and 56 for TNA and 17 Overall and 9 for TNA, respectively. This was the 3rd consecutive TNA Pay-Per-View from May to July that a title changed hands, out of 7 Pay-Per-Views. A title also changed hands at Against All Odds and Victory Road in February & March. This was also the 1st TNA Pay-Per-View of the year that the Knockout’s or Tag Team Titles were not defended. Destination X also marked the return to action of Douglas Williams, who hasn’t competed since February 9, giving him the 2nd longest period of time without wrestling in TNA.

Now without further ado, here are the Win-Loss Records for this week, followed by the results of the week that was. Thanks again to Mike for posting it and all of you for reading it. Please send all feedback and comments to my Twitter Account (@hbkid718).
