A number of talents not associated with the company, including some past CHIKARA alumni and even ROH President Cary Silkin came to ringside for the Larry Sweeney tribute. Mike Quackenbush went out of his way to invite anyone who might want to come pay tribute. That was one of the classiest things I've ever seen in the building.
The Great Sasuke, Jinsei Shinzaki, and Dick Togo all signed and took photos for fans after their match.
The younger Japanese talents were especially excited to meet Manami Toyota.
The slow motion spots are a trademark for Darren Corbin in Minnesota, which explains why I was so confused watching them last night. The crowd absolutely loved every second of that stuff, especially since the last person they expected to see pulling it off was Sasuke.
Sean Waltman was extremely emotional about the response he received from the crowd last night as he reprised his 1-2-3 Kid persona. He was thanking fans and clearly tearing up in the ring from the response.
Beyond the second round of the Trios tournament, tonight's show will feature a pair of four way matches as part of the company's Rey de Voladores mini-tournament and an open challenge from Archibald Peck.
Eddie Kingston is working tomorrow afternoon's third and final Trios event.
Scheduled for this afternoon's Fan Conclave Gathering is a Stan Bush musical concert, Tursas Body Slam Challenge, autograph sessions, opportunity for fans to do Guest Commentary with their favorite CHIKARA commentator and more.
We'll have live updates later today from the Conclave and Trios Night Two. I won't be able to attend Night Three but Joshua Higham will be filing a report.
CHIKARA will be running Burlington, NC in May and then Cleveland, Chicago and Taylor, Michigan this June. CHIKARAsaurus Rex 2, a follow-up to their big event last summer, is set for 7/30 in Reading, PA.
