MAIN EVENTS SET FOR ROH FINAL BATTLE, EDDIE EDWARDS INJURED AND MORE NEWS FROM MICHIGAN AND TORONTO WEEKEND EVENTS

By Mike Johnson on 2010-11-15 14:17:09
For those who have asked, there is no update right now on ROH TV champion Eddie Edwards' shoulder injury. He injured his shoulder doing a tope onto Chris Hero during the opening round of the Survival of the Fittest tournament on Friday. Incredibly, Edwards worked the final despite being barely able to lift his arm. Edwards earned a ROH title shot in 2011 with the win.

Ring of Honor was extremely happy with both attendance and merchandise sales, which were up considerably in both Dearborn, MI and Mississauga, Ontario. The company has already announced returns to Dearborn, MI on 4/29 and Toronto at the Ted Reeve Arena on 4/30.

Edwards injury forced several lineup changes to the Mississauga show. El Generico was scheduled to challenge for the TV Title. ROH intends to bring Generico vs., Edwards back down the line. The All Night Express vs. Kyle O'Reilly and Adam Cole was changed to ANX vs. El Generico and Colt Cabana with the winning team, King and Titus, earning a future shot at the ROH Tag Team Titles.

Former WWE star Zach Gowen was a late replacement for Christin Able, who is injured. Michael Elgin was booked several weeks back as the newest member of The House of Truth. Elgin will replace Josh Raymond who has apparently quit the business. Gowen recently began work on a book about his career.

Kevin Steen vs. El Generico at Final Battle will now be a Fight Without Honor at Final Battle 2010.

Roderick Strong vs. Davey Richards for the ROH World Title is now official for Final Battle 2010.

The next events are 12/9 and 12/10 in Louisville, KY which will be the first set of HDNet TV Tapings filmed outside of Philadelphia. Already announced for both events are ROH Champion Roderick Strong, Tag Team Champions The Kings of Wrestling, TV Champion Eddie Edwards, Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas, Jay and Mark Briscoe, and The All Night Express with more to be announced. Expect OVW talent on those tapings as well.
