WWE IN GLASGOW, SCOTLAND LIVE REPORT
By John McGovern on 2010-04-09 23:37:21
Here are the results from the WWE house show at Braehead
Arena, Glasgow, Scotland.
Arena was sold out.
Justin Roberts mentioned before the matches started was that this event was
being filmed for a future production. But to me I saw no cameras anywhere in the
arena so I think this was just a ploy to get the crowd to cheer louder.
1. Christian vs Chavo Gurrero. Christian went over via the Killswitch after a
killswitch tease and then Chavo missing the Frog Splash.. Lots of crowd
participation in this bout.
2. Dos Caras vs Evan Bourne.Caras comes out to a Who are you? chant. Caras cuts
a promo in Spanish, so I have no idea what he said. Lots of What? chants. Evan
takes the spoils here thanks to a Shooting Star Press.
After the match Sheamus comes out and destroys Evan with the Scissors Kick.
Sheamus then announces that this is what John Cena will face later tonight in
the Main Event. Evan is helped to the back by the ref.
3. Mayrse vs Eve Torres vs Kelly Kelly. For Divas Championship. Well suprise,
suprise Mayrse takes the victory here. Mostly Mayrse and Eve with Kelly getting
sent to the floor by Mayrse a few times.
4. Chris Masters comes out cutting a promo. He says he is going to offer someone
in the back the chance to face The MasterLock Challenge. The Challenge is
answered by Hornswoggle. Some bully tactics form Masters, then a tease at the
MasterLock. Hornswoggle escapes and proceeds to get the better of Masters. A few
kicks and a trip later and we are looking at the Tadpole Splash. Then the little
guy exits the arena like a king.
5. Ted Dibiase and Cody Rhodes vs Randy Orton in a handicap tag match.
Ted comes out with the Millon Dollar Championship. Cody comes out with what
looks like headgear. Ted talks about how he is more fortunate, athletic and
nicer looking than the crowd. Ted also says he and Cody are fed up carrying
Randy. Cody gets on the mike he talks of Orton giving him a head injury at
Wrestlemania and he will have to wear headgear tonight. Now this is amature
boxing headgear not Rick Stiener headgear. The trainer helps him into it. It
looks wrong...
Ted and Cody work Orton and the crowd until randy makes his comeback. A few
randy pushups int he middle of the ring, then he decides to remove Codys
headgear. Upon removal he tease a Punt to the head. Ted makes the save. Match
finishes with Randy hitting the RKO on Cody.
Interval. Justin Roberts hawks the WWE tour in November and also limited edition
John Cena signed photos, programmes and tour T-shirt. The Cena photo is sweet,
only because I bought one.
6. William Regal vs MVP. Regal really gets the crowd going with his promo. He
even manages to anger a section of guys who where supporting him. Regal says he
would rather be in Iraq than Glasgow because Iraq is more civilized and how a
lot o the childeren here should watch MVP because they will be in prison soon.
Major heat. MVP goes over in the end.
7. Miz vs Kofi Kingston. United States Champship match. Miz comes in talking
trash to the crowd. Miz speaks of beating Kofi for the belt six months ago. He
is the Miz and hes... Miz stops and berates the crowd for wanting to chant his
catchprase. Then we hear the pharse in full. Kofi comes in and a normal match
resumes for about five minutes. Then The Big Shows music hits. Kofi is unsure
on what is happening. Out comes Mark Henry. Miz is on the mike. He tells "Show
he has it covered. Do the crowd want to see a Unified Tag Team Title Match". Big
cheer. Miz then says "Thats too bad. The Big Show hasn't brought his title belts
with him. " Boos here from crowd. Then a loud pop. Miz thinks this is his pop.
It is actually for the second ref bringing down Shows title belts.
8. ShowMiz vs Kofi Kingston and Mark Henry for the Unified Tag Team
Championships. Back and forth match with both Miz and Big Show trying to put
Henry over as a monster by trying to tag each other in to face him. After a while
Show and Miz get the better of Henry. Henry with the hot tag to Kofi whilst Big
show tags Miz. After some offense by Kofi on Miz. Miz gets a tag to Show for the
Chokeslam win.
9. Main Event. Sheamus vs John Cena for the WWE Championship. Please welcome
your special ringside enforcer, Bret The Hitman Hart. Major pop. Sheamus comes
out to the heat of the night. Cena comes out to the pop of the night, thanks to
kids and women. Fairly even tussle all the way. Bret stays out of the way.
Attitude Adjustment tease. Sheamus escaped. STF with Sheamus reaching the ropes.
Sheamus then gets in a Scissor Kick and a close three count. Sheamus berates the
refs then he clocks him with a big right hand. THis now leaves the ring clear
for Bret to enter. Cena hits Sheamus with the Attitude Adjustment whislt Bret
was entering. Cena with the cover. Bret with the one, two and three. Cena and
Bret stand in the ring and celebrating.
This was a great little show. No Triple H even though he was advertised but I
never expected him after he missed the two previous shows. There were only two
referees the whole night. Charles Robinson and Mike Chioda. Looking forwards to
the Smackdown in Novenmber tour now.
Pops.
1. John Cena
2. Bret The Hitman Hart
3. Randy Orton.
Heat.
1. Sheamus
2.William Regal
3.The Legacy<
