When Paul Roma joined ClubWWI.com for a one hour shoot interview recently, it
had the world talking. Paul took aim at a number of wrestling personalities.
One of those people was his former partner in the Young Stallions. Well now
it's time for Jim Powers to respond and he did just that in an all new 80 minute
ClubWWI.com shoot that gives you the other Stallion's side of the story.
Jim Powers has been involved in many big moments in wrestling, some of which
fans might not realize. He was a final survivor at the first WWF Survivor
Series event. He and Roma took on the Islanders in a two out of three falls
match at the first WWF Royal Rumble event. On the Club, Jim discusses his big
moments both in the ring and out with James Guttman with no subject off-limits.

A topic that's still fresh in the minds of many fans is Scott Hall's actions at
the Iron Sheik roast. Recently, a video made its rounds of Hall confronting a
comedian over a distasteful joke he made about Owen Hart. Taking offense, Hall
confronted him and…well, it just kept going from there. What began as a
justified response from an offended friend turned into a prolonged moment that
could have ended a lot worse than it did. Front and center in all this - Jim
Powers. Jim stepped in and prevented the situation from escalating. Strangely,
he seemed to be the only one doing so. In the 80 minute ClubWWI.com shoot,
James asked him about this. Is that role something new? Has Powers always
found himself to be the voice of reason in situations like that?
"I've never had to be the voice of reason. I'm sure there were plenty of times
when I was not the voice of reason. My wife will attest to that….Scott and I
had spent about an hour, an hour and a half together in my room with my wife
just conversing and reminiscing and reflecting and all that stuff. The Scott
Hall that entered my room is not the Scott Hall that left my room."
Powers goes on to say that he considers Scott a friend and felt an obligation
to save him from ruining the event or ruining things for himself. He speaks
about the reasons he stepped in to do so and the other people on hand who he
felt had the same obligation but chose to sit back and "watch the show."
" I spent an hour and a half, but it seemed like an eternity, in my hotel room
with him. And we came off the elevator and I just happened to hear that comment
that was made and I said, 'Oh man.' "
Jim then speaks about his feelings for Owen Hart and the history they had. He
also spoke about Scott's side and what he fundamentally did wrong in the
situation. He then goes on to explain what made things get out of hand.
"What happened was that as Scott was getting off the stage, the people started
(chanting) 'Razor. Razor. Razor.' Which is like throwing a dry log on the
fire and that's just what kept him going."
