I just got back from the show in the Stockton Arena here in Stockton, California. The advertised match with Triple H and Orton didn't happen, of course. Lillian Garcia came out to the ring as the Ring Announcer for the evening and Maria was also a Hostess for the evening asking various Trivia questions and giving away free money. It was funny because she came through the crowd and gave a kid a special giveaway courtesy from Mr. McMahon. The kid ended up winning $200 and his name was ironically, Santino.
When we were walking to head in line, I saw Brian
Kendrick of all people driving his car to figure out what side to get into the
arena. I mentioned it to everybody else and they were like "Who?"
Lillian Garcia also announced that we could text our vote to see what we wanted
in the main event later tonight which would either be a No DQ, 2 out of 3 Falls,
or a Falls Count Anywhere match. But, anyways lets get to the show. Our opening
contest was a Tag match for the World Tag Team Championships.
1)WWE World Tag Team Championships:Carlito/Santino
vs. Hardcore Holly/Cody Rhodes (c)
Santino and Carlito got mediocre crowd heat and I was
bummed out because Santino didn't get to entertain us by cutting a promo.
Anyways, Team Rhodes/Holly won, but I forgot what the finish was. Bleh Match.
Also to note, Santino was sporting a singlet wrestling outfit which are
basically the kind like what Kurt Angle wears.
Winners: Cody Rhodes and Hardcore Holly to retain Championships.
2) Ted DiBiase vs. Hacksaw Jim Duggan
I was disappointed in this match, but due to who Ted
had to face, it was understandable. Boring match and nothing home to write
about. A Big dud. Prior to the match Ted DiBiase cut a promo to further gain
some heat. The crowd chanted for Duggan the entire time. Ted won with his feet
on the ropes.
Winner: Ted DiBiase
3) Brian Kendrick vs Snitsky
There was a loud "Brush your Teeth" chant at
Snitsky early on. Brian got minimal offense and with the surprise of the night
defeated Snitsky with the Sliced Bread finisher that he does. I was completely
shocked there, but it wasn't a big celebration afterwards as he got stomped and
battered.
Winner: Brian Kendrick
4) 2 on 1 Handicap Match: Super Crazy vs Katie Lea/Paul Burchill
Katie Lea is hot in Person but really didn't get too
much offense. She was sporting a new outfit as well. Burchill destroyed Crazy
early on and they did the sequence where Crazy goes for a Bulldog but ends up
also placing his legs on top of Katie's Shoulders reversing it to a hurancanrana
flip over take down. Katie's tights kept going down and you could see a good
view of her "Butt Crack" which was the theme of the night. There
in fact was a very LOUD chant for "Butt Crack". Paul and Katie Lea
takes the win when Burchill takes Crazy out allowing for Katie to get the
deciding pin.
Winners: Katie Lea and Paul Burchill
5) Trevor Murdoch vs. Lance Cade
Trevor Murdoch came out and talked about his
differences with Lance Cade and said this was Round 2 for them. Everyone in the
crowd urged him to sing, and he in fact did. What was funny was that he got
booed when he started singing, so I didn't know what the crowd wanted. I was
hoping for Jillian to show up and do a duet with him, but that's just wishful
thinking. At one point in this match, Trevor Irish whips Lance to the opposite
corner and goes for a Elbow and knocks Lance's teeth out. Lance wins with a roll
up I believe.
Winner: Lance Cade
Maria was once again in the crowd and talked to some random kid. She told him if
he can dance as crazy as Jeff Hardy can, then he can go down to ringside and be
a special ring announcer. Once he got down to the ring, Lillian Garcia told him
to look under the Ring bell and proclaim his prize of $200.
6)WWE Intercontinental Championship: Chris
Jericho(c) vs. Jeff Hardy
Both guys came out to tremendous pops, but everyone
turned on Chris Jericho and was way over for Jeff Hardy. Every time Chris would
get offense they would boo him and I wasn't too happy with that! There were
certain points in the match where Jeff would be close to defeating Jericho. Both
guys hit most of their spots as Jeff got to hit his Whisper in the wind. Later
in the match, Chris counters a move and goes for the Codebreaker for the
deciding fall. Crowd loved this match and it went on for about 8 Minutes.
Winner: Chris Jericho to retain Championship
After this, there was a brief intermission. But, before that Lillian announced
that souvenirs will be handled out in the Stands out in the Lobby. Maris was
then in the crowd and gave away $200 to some lady who she told to buy herself
some souvenirs.
7)WWE Women's Championship: Mickie James(c) vs
Beth Phoenix
Maria was once again in the crowd and gave this little girl an opportunity to be the Manager/Valet for the Winner of the next match. Beth Phoenix came out to mild Heat reaction and there was points in this match where people said "Buffalo". Mickie James came out to a great reaction and she did indeed looked hot as ever.
In the beginning of the match where the Ref checks
each opponent for weapons, Mickie James places her legs on the ropes which got a
great arouse from the crowd. Hands down this was one of the Best matches of the
Night because they actually gave it some time and both were allowed to give it
all they had. Beth Phoenix goes for her Fisherman's Suplex, but Mickie James
counters it to a Implant DDT for the victory. Also to mention, Both Mickie and
Beth had various "Butt Crack" moments as well. Mickie James celebrates
with the lucky fan and takes her to the back to get more acquainted, I guess?
Winner: Mickie James to retain Championship
8) John Cena vs. JBL:
Before the next match, JBL came out to the Biggest Heat of the night. The crowd
just ate him out alive and booed everything he said. He basically took some
shots on the Hispanics in the crowd saying they're good for only picking
Cherries and being his gardener. Whatever came out of his mouth was priceless
and he basically received so much heat that you couldn't almost hear anything
that he said.
John Cena came out to the Biggest pop of the night.
The crowd was Pro-Cena the entire time and couldn't stop keeping their trap
shut. There were a few boos in the crowd which I was also a part of as well.
Every time Cena would get some offense and JBL would retaliate with heel antics,
the crowd booed him for that. Cena does his Five Knuckle Shuffle and does the
F.U for the easy win.
Winner: John Cena
For the last time, Maria gave a kid in the crowd $200 and told him what
stipulation would he liked to see for the next match. The kid said he would like
to see a No DQ and Maria ended up saying that that was the deciding choice after
all. Lillian also said that we were the Loudest Crowd and hopes to come back in
the near future.
9) WWE Championship Match: Triple H(c) vs.
Umaga
This match was like a huge spit fest because every
time someone would get punched, bulks of their spits would came out and his the
crowd. They didn't use too much weapons, but the ones they used were Trash Cans,
a Chair, and a Sledgehammer. Triple H hits Umaga with a Sledgehammer and goes
for the Pedigree to win the match. Crowd loved HHH and here I was hoping for an
actual run-in by someone preferably HBK.
Winner: Triple H to retain Championship
CLOSING NOTES:
The crowd was hot all night, but I think the first three matches were a snoozefest for me. The entire Arena was sold out and there was no empty seat in the house which should give WWE a good hint to come back again this year. Katie Lea almost injured herself when she was tossed out to ringside and landed her knee on the ground.
After Santino and Carlito lost, Santino told Lillian to tell the crowd that he was OK which got a good laugh from me. Carlito also told Lillian to tell the crowd that Puerto Rico is a part of the United States as well since I think they were starting a USA chant prior to that. Speaking of USA, the crowd chanted that, also chanted Mexico(Meh-he-co) for Super Crazy.
Nothing else of note, but the Women's title, Intercontinental, and WWE championship matches were my favorite as well as the crowds favorites.
John Cena was unbelievably over tonight as he's always been and I wouldn't be surprised if most people bought their tickets to see him. Ugh.
Some great action tonight and some not so great. But, the Brian Kendrick/Snitsky match was a really big shocker for everyone because we all thought he was going to lose. Anyways, I got my money's worth and I would hope that they do come back.
I didn't get to take any videos of anything which I
was bummed about. It was because one of the security guards mentioned to us
earlier on that we would get kicked out if we were caught filming. We had pretty
good seats as well because below us were ringside seats. Anyways, onto the Stats
of the Night.
