1940 - Prince Ilaki defeats Pete Belcastro for the Pacific Coast Light
Heavyweight Title in Eugene, Oregon.
1964 - Ray Stevens defeats Dominic DeNucci to win the San Francisco NWA
United States Heavyweight Title in San Francisco, California, beginning his
fifth reign.
1968 - Kurt Von Brauner defeats Thunderbolt Patterson for the Amarillo
NWA Brass Knuckles Title in Amarillo, Texas, ending Patterson's second reign.
1972 - Gorgeous George, Jr. defeats The Wrestling Pro to win the Gulf
Coast Championship Wrestling City of Mobile Heavyweight Title in Mobile,
Alabama.
1988 - The Bruise Brothers (Don and Ron Harris) defeat Max Pain and Gary
Young to win the Continental Wrestling Association Tag Team Title in Memphis,
Tennessee.
1992 - WCW held the second-annual SuperBrawl pay-per-view at the MECCA
Arena in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The results:
- In a dark match, Big Josh pinned Diamond Dallas Page.
- Brian Pillman pinned WCW Light Heavyweight Champion Jushin Liger with a leg
roll-up into a bridge to win the title, becoming the first two-time champion.
- Marcus Bagwell pinned WCW United States Tag Team Champion Terrance Taylor with
a roll-up.
- Ron Simmons pinned Cactus Jack after a powerslam.
- Van Hammer and Tom Zenk defeated Ricky Morton and Vinnie Vegas, when Zenk
pinned Morton with a sunset flip.
- WCW World Tag Team Champions Arn Anderson and Bobby Eaton defeated The Steiner
Brothers (Rick and Scott) by reverse decision to retain the title. The Steiners
initially won the match, but this was overturned because one of the champs was
thrown over the top rope, which was against the rules, just before the match
ended.
- Dustin Rhodes and Barry Windham defeated Steve Austin and Larry Zbyszko, when
Windham pinned Zbyszko with a lariat off the top.
- WCW United States Heavyweight Champion Rick Rude pinned Ricky Steamboat to
retain the title, after Paul E. Dangerously, in a ninja outfit, hit Steamboat in
the head with his cellphone.
- Sting pinned WCW World Heavyweight Champion Lex Luger (with Mr. Hughes and
Harley Race) with a crossbody off the top to win the title.
1992 - The WWF held an afternoon event at Boston Garden in Boston,
Massachusetts. The results were:
- The Warlord pinned Chris Walker.
- Rick Martel and Davey Boy Smith fought to a time-limit draw.
- Tito Santana pinned WWF Tag Team Champion Ted DiBiase.
- The Natural Disasters (Earthquake and Typhoon) defeated Jim Duggan and Sgt.
Slaughter by disqualification.
- J.W. Storm (later Maxx Muscle in WCW) pinned Kato.
- The Big Bossman pinned Repo Man.
- Hulk Hogan and WWF Intercontinental Champion Roddy Piper defeated Sid Justice
and WWF Champion Ric Flair, when Hogan pinned Flair
1992 - Rex King and Ricky Santana defeat The Heartbreakers (Wendell
Cooley and Frankie Lancaster) to win the WWC World Tag Team Title in Caguas,
Puerto Rico, ending the Heartbreakers's second reign and beginning King and
Santana's second.
2000 - WCW taped the March 1 edition of Thunder and the March 4 Worldwide
at the Fargo Dome in Fargo, North Dakota. The results:
Worldwide:
- The Maestro defeated The Demon.
- WCW World Tag Team Champions The Mamalukes (Johnny the Bull and Big Vito)
defeated XS (Lenny Lane and Rave).
Thunder:
- Chavo Guerrero, Jr. defeated WCW Cruiserweight Champion The Artist Formerly
Known as Prince Iaukea (with Paisley) by disqualification.
- Terry Funk and Dustin Rhodes fought to a no-contest.
- The Hardcore Army (Fit Finlay, Brian Knobbs and The Dog) defeated WCW
co-Hardcore Champions 3 Count (Shane Helms, Evan Karagias and Shannon Moore).
- La Parka pinned The Demon.
- Lex Luger (with Elizabeth) pinned Vampiro.
- Mickey Jay pinned Mark "Slick" Johnson.
- Crowbar (with Daffney and David Flair) defeated The Wall by disqualification.
- Ric Flair pinned Buff Bagwell.
- Jeff Jarrett, Ron Harris and Don Harris defeated Booker, Billy Kidman and Sid
Vicious.
2004 - Pro Wrestling ZERO1-MAX held "Manifesto-1" at Sumo Hall
in Tokyo, Japan, which aired live on pay-per-view. The results:
- C.W. Anderson, Steve Corino, Kintaro Kanemura, Tetsuhiro Kuroda and Yoshito
Sasaki defeated Akashi, Naohiro Hoshikawa, Jun Kasai, Osamu Roko and Tatsuhito
Takaiwa, when when Kuroda pinned Akashi.
- Masa Fuchi and Masanobu Kurisu defeated Don Arakawa and Yoshiaki Fujiwara,
when Fuchi pinned Arakawa.
- Kohei Sato and Hiro Yokoi defeated Tom Howard and Zebraman, when Sato pinned
Zebraman.
- NWA United National Heavyweight Champion Masato Tanaka pinned The Gladiator to
retain the title.
- NWA International Light Heavyweight Tag Team Champions Low Ki and Leonardo
Spanky defeated Frankie Kazarian and A.J. Styles, when Spanky pinned Kazarian,
to retain the title.
- Shinjiro Ohtani pinned Wataru Sakata.
- Naoya Ogawa and The Predator (Sylvester Terkay) defeated Dustin Rhodes and
Giant Silva, when Predator pinned Silva.
- Keiji Muto pinned Takao Omori.
- Shinya Hashimoto pinned Riki Choshu.
2004 - Trik Nasty defeats Ron Killings to win the NWA Tri-State
Heavyweight Title in Fairmont, West Virginia, beginnig his second reign. The
title was vacated by Chance Prophet earlier in the month. At the same event,
J.D. Escalade defeats Rocky Reynolds to become the first NWA Tri-State X
Division Champion.
2004 - MÃÂstico defeates Nicho El Millonario (Psicosis) for the World
Wrestling Association World Middleweight Title in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
2004 - Il Drago defeats Mr. Excellent to win the Italian Championship
Wrestling Interregional Heavyweight Title in Carugate, Italy.
