Some quick Royal Rumble live notes:
*There is no stage set up and entrances will be made from the traditional Madison Square Garden entranceway.
*A series of video screens are set up behind the entrance and will be visible all night from the hard camera shot to create something of a skyline background. There are also some screens set up on the sides of the entranceway.
*In a genius marketing move, UFC purchased ads on the large video screen outside of MSG used to promote upcoming events, pushing Brock Lesnar’s debut.
*There was a huge “Let’s Go Giants’ chant before the show started. There is no truth to the rumor that Buck Woodward started them. . . I think.
*The Ric Flair appearance at AXXESS today looked to have drawn in the 800 range.
*MSG staff were informing fans that anyone taking photos or video with a cell phone camera would be ejected.
*The live event opened with a music video set to footage from Wrestlemania 23 including Bobby Lashley and the ECW Originals.
*The dark match featuring Shannon Moore and Jimmy Wang Yang defeating Deuce and Domino.
*They played a video dedicated to Ric Flair that was awesome.
