TNA NOTES & NEWS

By Mike Johnson on 2008-01-24 15:37:41

For those of you looking to attend the New York City event on 2/21, I would advise you not to wait as the VIP tickets are sold out and the $30 general admission (standing room) are said to be moving well.

Jeff sent the following recap of TNA champion Kurt Angle on Pros vs. Joes...The other Pros were former NFL receiver Jimmy Smith and former NBA guard Kendall Gill. From the very outset Angle was talking all kinds of trash on the Joes, and even challenged one of them to a fight during the introductions. Kurt was very intense throughout the whole episode...with the Joes calling him a psycho. Jimmy Smith went first, Kendall Gill second, and Angle third. Angle wrestled two of the Joes (one at a time) in a contest to see how many takedowns Angle could get in three minutes. Not to mention it was pouring rain during Kurt's entire contest. Kurt took the first Joe down eight times in three minutes. The competitor was pretty worn out by the end of that time, while Kurt looked like he could go another 10 rounds. Then Angle thoroughly destroyed the second competitor. While he only took him down seven times in the three minutes, he hit some pretty serious suplexes. The competitor could barely stand up by the end of the three minutes, and looked completely out of it. Again Kurt was jumping around afterwards like he could have gone for another hour. The other Pros were impressed with Kurt's quickness and strength. Angle came across like a beast, and was way too strong for the Joes.  It was pretty entertaining. Angle was very intense and pumped up during the entire episode, and talked a ton of trash on the Joes.

James Storm and LAX will appearing on Rock 104 FM tomorrow between 1-2 PM to promote TNA's Ohio events this weekend.

Some DVD notes: TNA's Best of 2007 will be released on DVD on 4/8. Turning Point 2007 will be released on 2/5.  Final Resolution 2008 will be released on 3/11.  The 2008 Against All Odds PPV will be released on 4/22.  The company has really improved the turnaround on getting the PPVs out on DVD.  At one point, there was a 3-4 month lag between the two it seemed.
