While the Raw broadcast is said to be absolutely stunning and perfect if you are watching via HD, there are a number of changes for those who are watching via a standard broadcast:
*During the Shawn Michaels vs. Ken Kennedy match, the camera shots were cutting off the heads of the wrestlers at times in the standard broadcasts, while HD viewers were not discovering that issue.
*The standard broadcast also cut off Michaels, who disappeared from the left side of the standard broadcast screen as he and Ken Kennedy were battling in the corner.
*While there were no issues with the HD broadcast, there was noticeable pixelization for brief periods of the standard broadcast.
*Wideshots of the ring in HD are not translating into the usual wide screens for standard broadcast viewers either, as they are losing parts of the overall view of the Arena and crowd, instead finding a closer view of ring.
Obviously, this is only WWE's first night of HD broadcasting, so there were obviously going to be miscues and errors. By all accounts, the HD broadcast looks great, but those of us still watching via standard broadcast are noticing an obviously step backwards from WWE's usual production standards. That will have to be an issue WWE will need to take into account as they get more comfortable with their new technology.
