LOTS OF NOTES & NEWS SURROUNDING WWE'S LEAP INTO HD BROADCASTING TONIGHT

By Mike Johnson on 2008-01-21 12:28:49

WWE's website posted an interview with set engineer Jason Robinson about the new TV set and Titantron that will debut with tonight's Raw taping.  After reading it, it certainly sounds like the TV tapings are going to be seeing a really cool improved staging for entrances and the like.  I am really excited to see Raw after reading the interview, which you can find at this link.

For those of you planning to tape Raw in HD on your DVR tonight, Al Engels sent the following....I work in the TV business, so perhaps many people don't realize this. With WWE going HD this week, and many viewers using DVR to record the shows, if you are in fact getting WWE programming in HD, and you record a HD program on your DVR, a HD program uses about 50% more space on your DVR hard drive then a non-HD program. So if anyone is running out of room on their DVR currently, they should delete some programs so the HD shows can fit on it.

Meanwhile, Louis Martinez sent the following.....Just wanted you to let fans not on the East Coast know that they should check their programming guides for WWE RAW in HD tonight to verify the time it airs.  I subscribe to Comcast, and the USAHD feed is actually the East Coast feed, meaning that the HD version airs at 6PM tonight, not 9PM like the Standard Def feed.
