RAW PREVIEW, SLIGHT CHANGES TO WWE PRODUCT STARTING TONIGHT, FANS SAY TO GIVE TOMMY DREAMER A CHANCE, JEFF HARDY HOUDINI & MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2008-01-21 09:19:52

Scheduled thus far for tonight's Monday Night Raw:

*An update on WWE champion Randy Orton and Jeff Hardy
*Triple H vs. mystery opponent (please don't be Great Khali) in a Royal Rumble qualifying match
*Shawn Michaels vs. Ken Kennedy
*The debut of the new WWE set.

Since tonight's Raw is the company's official debut via HD broadcasting, an edict was sent out to the performers to be very careful about verbalizing their called spots in the ring and to change their in-ring style somewhat to prevent moves from appearing too light on camera. WWE actually used all their new equipment the last few tapings as test runs, but won't flip the switch to broadcast in HD until tonight.

The No Way Out PPV poster featuring Jeff Hardy is actually a Harry Houdini-inspired shot of Hardy handcuffed under water with the Elimination Chamber in the background.  I got a good look at the photo in a full page ad for the PPV in the most recent WWE Magazine and thought it was a hell of a cool photo and concept.

WWE's website put up a poll asking readers whether Tommy Dreamer should "get what he asked for" in his column last week, where he basically wrote that he wanted to be used by the company.  As of this writing, 94% of the responses were that Dreamer should.  The other 6% of the votes came from WWE creative.  I'm kidding...I think.

The forthcoming WWE children's magazine, titled simply enough "WWE Kids" will be published bi-monthly.
