The Hollywood Reporter reported today that Bonnie Hammer has been replaced by Dave Howe as network president, although Howe will still report to Hammer, president of the USA Network. Howe, who worked for years with the BBC, will take over creation of original content for the network. It was Hammer who signed a deal with WWE to bring the revived ECW brand to SciFi. ECW is signed with the network through January 2009. I wouldn't read too much into the change because Hammer has long been a proponent privately that ECW has helped the network's bottom line, so as long as she remains in control and the ratings do the same or better, things will remain the same.
The second season of American Gladiators will be taped in March in Los Angeles and air this July, according to a source at NBC.
GameStop, The CW, USA Network, The SciFi Channel and THQ will be the official sponsors for the WWE Wrestlemania AXXESS tour stops with each entity rotating sponsorship based on the market. Gamestop will be the sponsor for the tour's opening weekend in New York City as part of the Royal Rumble festivities.
