The decision that TNA champion Kurt Angle will stand trial for DUI was covered in depth locally in Angle's hometown of Pittsburgh, PA last night and this morning by a number of newspapers and newscasts.
In regard to the decision, Angle's attorney Mike Santicola told WTAE Channel 4: "We're disappointed the magistrate would allow such a case to continue on, based solely on the testimony of a witness who, herself, faces a DUI charge filed by the same department. There has to be some articulable fact that the police officer saw on each element of this crime. They don't have it here."

The Associated Press ran the following article today:
CORAOPOLIS, Pa. (AP) - Professional wrestler and Olympic gold medalist Kurt Angle has been ordered to stand trial on a drunken driving charge.
Moon Township police say they charged 39-year-old Angle on Sept. 28 after a motorist told them Angle cut her off while pulling out of a bar parking lot that afternoon.
A police officer testified Tuesday he went to Angle's Moon Township home, where the wrestler admitted to driving the vehicle and drinking a few beers at the bar that day. Police say Angle failed field sobriety tests and refused a blood test.
Angle's attorney says police couldn't place Angle in the vehicle at a specific time.
Angle won a gold medal in the 1996 Summer Olympics.
