ROB VAN DAM DISCUSSES THE DEBUT OF RVD-TV ONLINE, THE RAW ANNIVERSARY SHOW, BOOKER'S PROMOTION, RETURNING FULL-TIME & MORE

Rob Van Dam called into the Joe McDonnell Experience on KLAC AM 570 to talk about the launch of his internet show RVD TV, which can be accessed at his web site http://www.rvd.com.  The interview is available for download at http://am570radio.com/main.html and here are some of the highlights.

 

• Rob said that he currently has three episodes up online and that he has more in the can with guests such as rap group Cypress Hill, Justin McCauley and Taboo of Black Eyed Peas.  He also plans on having TNA star Samoa Joe on a future show.
• The show will not just be interviews.  Some episodes will be day in the life pieces as well as workout clips.
• Talked about how he and McCauley went up to Big Bear and played a practical joke on MMA star Kendall Groves, which also was filmed for the show.
• Joe McDonnell said that he is looking forward to appearing on the show.  In fact, he was supposed to appear on a test filming, but had to cancel at the last minute.  However, Rob said he would love to come and film a segment in the KLAC studio with Joe and the rest of the Experience crew (Tim Cates and Joe Grande).
• Rob said the show might not be for everyone due to the fact that it isnt just about wrestling.  In fact, he said it shows him as more of a three-dimensional person as opposed to the two-dimensional character that people saw in WWE.
• Joe brought up the fact that since the last time he was on that Rob has made a couple of wrestling appearances.  He talked about his appearance on the Raw 15^th anniversary show.  He joked that he didn't realize that the squash of Santino Marella was an actual match and that he forgot to pin him.  He also talked about how much he enjoyed working with Booker T. in a match for Booker's PWA promotion.  Rob put over PWA saying that Booker definitely has a good thing going down there.  In fact, he saw several other wrestlers including Shelton Benjamin, the Boogeyman and 2 Cold Scorpio.
• Joe then talked about how after Rob made his appearance on Raw that he was inundated with calls from various wrestling media outlets due to the fact that he and Rob are good friends.  He said that every asked if Rob was returning and he said that Rob was definitely taking a break, for now.  In fact, Rob said that he told both WWE and the boys down south (TNA) that he is still not ready to return from his sabbatical, but that he will keep all doors open.
• He also said that he traveled to the 15^th anniversary show with Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan on Bischoff's private jet.  He even said that during the trip he was able to bond with The Hulkster and that Hogan is a truly down to earth person.
• At the end of the interview Joe Grande joked that since Rob is such a three-dimensional person and that he is doing all his media stuff that he should really go for it and put out an adult video, which caused everyone to laugh.

Rob definitely sounded as if he was really enjoying his time off and at the same time he was really excited about his latest venture.
