I saw WWE recently put up Ted DiBiase's debut as The Million Dollar Man. It got me thinking...What was the "Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase's last match? Did the injury that forced him to retire occur in that match or outside of the ring?
Ted DiBiase's last match was on 11/13/93 wrestling for All Japan Pro Wrestling. DiBiase was teaming with Stan Hansen to defeat Richard Slinger & Tracy Smothers in the promotion's Real World Tag League. I believe The neck injury was something he had been working with and with a good threat of something terrible happening, DiBiase was unable to continue wrestling. Since the two were the AJPW Unified Tag Team champions at the time, the belts were vacated. Giant Baba teamed with Hansen for the remainder of the tournament. Baba also paid DiBiase his full pay for the tour. DiBiase went on to sign with WWF as an announcer and manager, then went to WCW in a managerial role, but never ever wrestled again.
Ric Flair. Do you ever see him coming back to WWE as a guest host or maybe some other type of role?
Flair has made it clear he's under contract to AEW, so as long as that is the case, no.
Also, around the time that Flair nearly died, there was a rumor WWE was so convinced he was going to pass they had a tribute video produced for him but it was never used. Any ideas?
I don't know about that rumor, but I do remember around that time period, sources in the company's production end telling me they had been tasked with putting a video together, so it was at least worked on. No idea if it was completed, but thankfully, it never needed to be utilized.
I once read that before a match that called for blading, the wrestler(s) would take asprin. Why is this, and do they still do it?
Wrestlers would take aspirin before the match because it would thin the blood and give them "more flow" so to speak. I am sure some of them still follow the practice, but unless they state it publicly, no way to know for sure.
I've read many stories about how Ricky Steamboat was never a heel. Has there ever been any other major star never to make the jump between heel and face?
The only other name that comes to mind, especially on a national level, is Tito Santana.
