If WWE goes through with the Saudi show are the talents just sitting ducks at an arena? Even if they use a private security firm to get there what's stopping an attack at the arena? This just seems like they are sending their employees to be a big target for an attack in my opinion.
Those are my exact concerns about going through with the show. I will keep answering these questions because it’s mind numbing to me that WWE is going to go through with this show. They need to be constantly reminded of how insane it is.
I'm sure with TV rights deals being the biggest revenue for the WWE sponsor money doesn't quite matter to them as it used to. Do you think if some sponsors would come forward and say if you go thru with crown jewel we'll pull our money they would finally get the hint?
ALL Of the money matters to WWE, for sure. Remember when Slim Jim put their deal on pause after the Vince McMahon accusations? He was quickly gone. I honestly don’t know what WWE would do if that happened but it’s a damn shame that I am hoping that it does, only because WWE won’t do the right thing on their own.
How do people in the company feel about going to Crown Jewel?
I can’t speak for everyone but I can tell you that many people I have talked to that never minded going to Saudi Arabia before definitely do not want to go to Crown Jewel. Make of that what you will.
On Arn Anderson’s podcast he has said multiple times in the late 1980s WCW was a startup. Because it was a startup the employees were learning how to run a pro wrestling company. However, TBS purchased Jim Crockett Promotions which became WCW. I work in IT and I’ve been through multiple mergers and acquisitions in my career. Most of the employees keep working with the new employer. Why might Arn have been calling WCW a startup at that time? Did most of the behind the scenes people quit or not continue to WCW?
I think what he is saying is that it went from being run by people who understood wrestling to corporate people who had no idea as to how to present pro wrestling. He is right on the money if that is what he is saying. WCW under Turner had many an incompetent hand running WCW over the years.
Regarding the Boston Carmelo Hayes being in 946, I am divided. On one hand it's great he's not longer sitting in catering. But it also makes no sense. And really 2 out of 5 members in the 946 are from the West Coast. Technically majority of the Bloodline is from the 946. I think the reality is the 946 name just sucks in general. Great faction but a horrible name.
That’s a great point. If the name wasn’t the area Royce and supposedly the other two guys are from, it wouldn’t be an issue with Melo. I don’t think they thought this one out long term, which sadly happens a lot of late with WWE Creative.
