MVP DECRIES CLAIMS THE HURT BUSINESS REFUSED TO PUT PEOPLE OVER IN AEW

By Mike Johnson on 2026-10-26 10:51:00

MVP took to Twitter to shoot down claims that he and the other members of The Hurt Business were off AEW programming due to a refusal to put other talents over in the ring.

In response to the claim making the rounds online, MVP wrote, over several tweets:

"This is a blatant lie! ABSOLUTELY UNTRUE!!!!! Who is your source???? BULLSHIT!!!!!"

"So I open up Twitter to see lies being reported about The Hurt Syndicate. BLATANT LIES!!!   Who is the source of these lies?  To the contrary, we wanted to work with younger talent! We wanted to drop the tag titles BACK to Private Party!!! STOP BELIEVING THE BS!"

"Seriously wrestling fans. You guys have to stop believing the click bait BS reported by these idiots at these "dirt sheet" sites.  Rumor, gossip with absolutely ZERO facts!!!!  Site your sources! Cowards."

MVP later stated that Private Party was the first team the Hurt Business wanted to put over.  PWInsider.com is told that statement was made backstage in full view of a number of people the night Private Party lost the AEW Tag Team belts to the Hurt Business.

When a fan responded that Bobby Lashley wasn't facing Swerve Strickland again due to "creative difference", MVP wrote, "Rumor? Nah man. You are absolutely Wrong!!!! None of this is true. But now I know where this whisper campaign is coming from!",  alluding to the idea it had come from someone close to Strickland.  Strickland's cousin Will Washington works for the company, although whether who that was who MVP was referencing is not clear.
