There have been rumors over the last week that Skydance is killing off WOW - Women of Wrestling. The rumors were reported as fact elsewhere and then walked back. All along, those close to the promotion have denied that any cancellation had happened.
Variety reported that WOW - Women of Wrestling, which previously aired as a syndicated weekly series distributed by Paramount, would begin to air weekly live episodes from Los Angeles' L.A Live with WOW owner Jeannie Buss having an camera appearances as part of the new season when it premieres. The belief is that the series would end as a syndicated series and instead air from one broadcast home live. There had been whispers a few years ago that if the series made it to season five, it would air live on CBS, but whether that turns out to be the case obviously remains to be seen.
WOW Champion Santana Garrett was doing promotion about the fifth season as recently as last month, including an interview here on PWInsider.com.
The promotion continues to release content on their YouTube channel as well as their weekly podcast, but their website has removed all references to their syndicated television series, but no events for LA Live have been officially announced.
