10/24 WRESTLING REVOLVER JERRY LYNN INVITATIONAL 2026 REPORT

By David Houston on 2026-10-25 15:57:00

The Wrestling REVOLVER was back in the Troubador in Nashville, Tenn, love on Youtube and IWTV for the annual REVOLVER Jerry Lynn Invitational tournament.  The Troubador's an intimate venue but the crowd is active and it has a unique look.

Carmen Michaels and Bork Torkelson on commentary. Michaels is very good. Bork?   Well...Sami likes him. That's all that matters.

Trey Miguel secured a spot in the tournament finals, winning a 4-way match over fellow TNA star BDE, Marcus Mathers, and Juni Underwood while "Mr. Mayhem" Steve Maclin won the other half, beating out Crash, Ohio Valley Wrestling star Colby Carter, and the very impressive big man Troy Parker.  Two different but very exciting and well laid out matches.  The first was high on athleticism and high flying, the second let the big men cook.

OVW mainstay Jake Painter challenged Damien Chambers (with Kayla Cassidy) for the WR Championship.  Good match but they lost me when Chambers hit curb stomp on the floor, then hit a second in the ring with Painter kicking out and going quickly back on offense and nearly winning.  He pinned Chambers but Cassidy got Damien's foot on the rope so when the ref saw it, he restarted the match. Chambers retains using a steel chain.

The only standard tag match on the show saw the Outbreak (Abel Booker, Jacksyn Crowley with Barnabas the Bizarre) beat fan favorite team of the Production (Katie Arquette, Derek Dillinger).  Nice match. The Outbreak's "walking dead" gimmick is very good. They are committed to it and it's definitely that time of the year.

Gringo Loco retained the 24/7 Scramble title in... what else? A Scramble match, holding off the challenges of WR Tag champion Jake Crist, WR regular Jeffrey Johns, House of Glory mainstay Jodi Aura (making a debut), Kristin Robinson, Leon King and Nashville-based star, TeVon Jordyn.  7 athletes in this one with all the big dives you could ask for and they still threw in crashing through a door.  It's an action-filled match with the biggest moment being Robinson tossing Johns off an awning in the building onto some wrestlers and security staff and then following.  The two wrestlers not involved in that melee were King and Loco with Loco pinning King with a top rope powerbomb onto a piece of the door (his head looked like it hit hard).   Everyone worked hard but Bigg Pound, a guy who does not look built for long matches, was working pretty hard here. Surprising stamina for the big man.

In a successful defense of the Remix title, AEW star Zachary Wentz beat Cole Radrick. The stipulation announced beforehand was a Bunkhouse match but Wentz also threw in a Falls Count Anywhere stip.  Okay.  It was fine considering there was no heat between the two going in and they had a lot of comedy and silly spots thrown in.

The reunited (again) Alpha Sig (Brent Oakley back with "Big" Dick Meyers, KC Jacobs) won a Nashville Street Fight over Tye or Die (Ryan Matthias, Rory Shield, who is either filling in for KJ Reynolds or has replaced him, Amazanga).  A lot like the Remix title match with a lot of action and a lot of shenanigans. I didn't hear how this came about with Oakley having just been kicked out of the already-defunct Algorithm by Joe Alonzo, who was not here at all.  I started to get nervous with them crashing into piles of door fragments, especially Amazanga, who did a moonsault onto a what was just a pile of wood shards.

They followed all that with a standard match in the tournament finals between old TNA rivals: former TNA World champion Steve Maclin and former X Division champion Trey Miguel with Lynn as the special referee.
Good match but Lynn getting involved took something from it for me.  He refused to count a fall for Maclin after Maclin has shoved him into a corner to dislodge Miguel from the top rope.  Didn't like that.  Miguel pinned Maclin with a Meteora from the top rope, ending a good match just as it felt like it was ramping up.

Solid show overall. The usual hard work and a roster full of very promising young wrestlers.  Also, the normal REVOLVER excess that which some folks will love and others could do without.
