THE STORIES MATTER, PENTA’S RISE, WHO’S WHO AND MORE

Is it really needed in a scripted form of entertainment to worry about Carmelo not being from the same area of California when Jaida was born and raised in Florida and Lucien Price is from Maryland?  Shouldn't we just enjoy the fact that Carmelo is finally being used in a good position after being off TV for a while?  I mean, even if we do want logic in our storylines, I don't think every aspect of wrestling storylines needs to be as realistic as possible if you're entertained by what you're watching!

OK, so say that you are a huge Daryl Dixon fan and they have told you the story about Carol and her husband.  Suddenly, they act like Carol was never married.  It would make no sense.  The same holds true for wrestling.  Hell, even back in the old days of soap operas when they made a change in a character, they would say that the part of whoever is now being played by whoever.  To me, just explain why Boston Melo is now in West Coast 946.  It’s basic story continuity.  Instead?  They explain nothing.

How do you feel about Roman Reigns and the way he has continually downplayed the value of the WWE title?  Tonight wasn’t the first time, and it whether it’s “on character” for him, it just seems to be bad business.  When someone comes out and says “that title doesn’t mean shit” a lot of fans will take that as gospel.  And it undermines Sami’s credibility as well.

In general, I get it.  It’s brand vs. brand so I can see why he would say that.  But, given Sami is a champ who is always in danger of losing, and Roman will probably beat him in Saudi Arabia?  It’s not wise.  Now, they are going to have Sami beat Roman, we can revisit it then.

Do you think using Big Cass perhaps as a partner/muscle for Ethan Page would be a good route to go?  Ethan can run his mouth really well, and having a 7 footer standing behind you seems perfect for him.

Given how they have used him, it’s probably his best role option.  Sadly, he is back to being a second, like he was with Enzo.  At least it’s not actually WITH Enzo.

With Penta getting a win over Breakker (albeit assisted) do you see se this more as a progression in Breakker’s current narrative or is this Penta being positioned a notch above him?

I think it’s both.  Breakker was in complete control until Je’Von came out, so the loss didn’t hurt him to me.  Penta had to win there at least they didn’t kill Bron in the process.

I know you’ve stated before that the Bloodline are listed internally as heels.  Has that changed?  Between the murky booking and the fans not seeming to want to boo them, I've all but given up on trying to figure out exactly what they are.

As of last week, no.  But then again, in current WWE the heel/face dichotomy isn’t what it used to be in WWE, sadly.

I’m feeling lately that I’m tuning into WWE more for the action than the stories.  Now, their overall creative is still better than AEW, but it’s fallen so far that I’m left with “well, I guess at least the match will be good”.  Thoughts?

I have made that same point a few times so I agree with us!  The creative is meh in WWE right now.
