Saurav Gurjar aka Sanga during his WWE run was arrested on 9/17 in Hyderabad, India of charges of "harassing a woman by luring her with marriage", according to Ratopati. Gurjar was arrested after arriving at the Mumbai airport.
A complaint was made by a 29-year old woman who claims that the two met on Instagram in 2021 (he would have been with WWE at the time) and began conversation on WhatsApp, a messaging app. They met in person in December of that year with Gurjar promoising to marry her. The alleged victim stated they lived together in the United States and then India and that he persuaded her to quit her job in America, promising that they would start a business together. She alleged repeated mental harassment and that whenever she brought up finally getting married, he would block her from contacting her. She later alleged he admitted he was already married but that he would leave his wife for her to marry her, according to a Hindustan Times article on the arrest.
She stated in the complaint that they lived together in Hderabad, India from October 2025 to March 2026 but that he suddenly disappeared without informing her, so she approached the police in August seeking to press charges. After an investigation, Gurjar was arrested at the airport.
The Hinudstan Times article noted:
"Gachibowli police registered a case under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which covers sexual intercourse through deceitful means. Police also issued a Look Out Circular against Gurjar.
Gachibowli inspector K Saidulu confirmed the arrest and said, “We also issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) against him. On the night of September 17, he was intercepted by immigration officials at Mumbai airport when he arrived from the Middle East. Our team brought him to Hyderabad on Saturday and produced him before a magistrate, who remanded him to judicial custody on Sunday”.
Saurav was subsequently remanded to 14 days in judicial custody. The investigation is ongoing, and the allegations made by the woman remain allegations at this stage."
Under the Sanga ring name, Gurjar had a six year run with WWE, mostly in WWE NXT but briefly on the Raw brand as well as one half of the Indus Sher tag team. He was signed in 2018 and released in April 2024. His final bout for the company was the 2024 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal in Philadelphia.
Gurjar had an acting background before WWE and returned to acting in film and television in India after returning home to that country.
