Come meet Absolute Intense Wrestling (AIW) stars Josh Prohibition and Matt Cross appearing in person alongside director Adam J. Wilde for the Opening Night screening of Slowburn Shoot: An Indie Wrestling Story on Thursday, September 24 at the 9th Annual Mystic Film Festival in Mystic, CT.
The raw and moving documentary chronicles more than 20 years of Absolute Intense Wrestling, the Cleveland-based independent wrestling promotion founded by John Thorne and his late co-owner Chandler Biggins, and the wrestlers, friendships, sacrifices and community that helped shape its legacy.
The film features appearances by some of the biggest names to come through or be connected to the independent wrestling scene, including Johnny Gargano, Britt Baker, Eddie Kingston, Nick Gage, Ethan Page, Tom Lawlor, Swoggle, Chris Van Vliet and John Thorne, among others.
