Wresting Open RI
9/14/26 Cranston, RI
Spotlight Match: Jose Zamora vs Love Doug
Zamora’s chat loves this match so much that his camera keeps trying to dive off the corner. Doug keeps full control on Zamora through much of this and wins with The Rebound.
We are starting off with a “Simply the Best” Open Challenge for Oxx Adams. Who is answering the call? DUTCH!
Match 1: Oxx Adams (w/ BRG) vs Dutch
Adams says he’s ready to beat the brakes off of a bunch of tiny competition…he wasn’t prepped for a boss fight. Dutch takes it right to him. Oxx tries a powerful slap and hits the post. Sounds right. BRG eats a kick but it’s enough of a distraction for Oxx to come back. BRG out here wearing a fur coat that looks like it came from his own back. Dutch kicks out of the sitout chokebomb to everyone’s surprise. Dutch hits a black hole slam…BRG slides in and drops an axe handle to draw the DQ.
BRG almost eats a chokeslam before Oxx saves him. Adams says that next week, Dutch can find a partner to take them both on!
Match 2: Paris Van Dale & Kylie Alexa vs Shannon LaVangie & Liviyah
Shannon failed to win the Open Women’s title last week after Kylie stole the pin. She’s looking for some payback this week but it ain’t gonna give her gold. Kylie and Paris definitely taking shortcuts to keep Liv isolated and beaten down for quite some time. Shannon in hot. Kylie stomps her in the spine! They go for the kill on Liv but Shannon pulls Kylie out and posts her. Liv with the rollup on Paris for the three!
Rich Palladino announces that Dutch has found a partner for next week’s match against Simply the Best…Big Trouble Ben Bishop!
Match 3: Dustin Waller vs Flyin’ Ryan O’Neill
Waller has not taken the loss he suffered to O’Neill well. Not well at all. He brags about how he put Marcus Mathers on the shelf at Americanrana. He doesn’t just want to pin O’Neill. He wants to make him QUIT. Ryan flies in from behind and surprises Waller. Dustin holds fast and starts tearing this kid apart. O’Neill dodges the flash splash and counters the lethal injection…fisherman’s buster for two! Ryan with the big boot, Dustin dodges the double underhook…lethal injection! Kick out! Ryan looks out but Ref Scott says he’s good. Dustin tries a suplex…Ryan with the backslide. Kickout! Not this time! Dustin dodges the smash. Flash splash connects for two! Dustin puts on a head and arm choke…Ryan gets his foot to the rope as we approach 30 seconds left…Dustin keeps the hold on and gets DQ’d! It takes three refs to pull Waller off of him! This isn’t over by a mile.
Match 4: Stetson Ranch (Steven Stetson & Wonderboy Brian Morris)(c) vs Waves & Curls (Jaelyn Brandyn & Traevon Jordan) (for the Wrestling Open Tag Team Championships)
It’s a night for blindsides…the champs attack Waves & Curls during their entrance. They post Jaelyn and double team Traevon for the opening minutes. Stetson gets thrown off the apron, leaving Wonderbread to feel the wrath of both his opponents. Stetson back in it to blindside Jaelyn and the Ranch just keeps the heat on. Jaelyn breaks free and gets back to Traevon. The Ranch starting to come apart…Stetson drops an elbow on Morris! Jordan with a splash but Stetson throws Jaelyn to break it up! Jaelyn almost wins with a rollup…and then Wonderboy rakes his eyes…and rolls up Brandyn with a handful of tights for the win. Nooooooo!
We have a brief interview with Flyin’ Ryan O’Neill. He’s challenging Dustin Waller next week for a Submission Match!
Match 5: Anthony Vecchio vs All Go Nelli
Nelli doesn’t get an entrance again. It seems like a spot he gets murdered from but he’s done pretty well the last two times it’s happened. Vecchio immediately looking to embarrass his opponent and disrespects him. Nelli trying to fight back but Vecchio hits a vertical cutter for the win.
Vecchio on the mic. WHY did he attack Bobby Casale last week? Because Bobby was the one who held Aaron Ortiz down when Stetson blasted his knee with a bat. Vecchio is furious that people cheered Casale. He’s furious that people didn’t cheer them when they came back. He’s furious that people weren’t sad enough when they were forced to break up. Vecchio channels all of this towards Bobby Casale…who he promises to destroy his knee with a baseball bat. Casale finally hits the ring and we have a brawl! The locker room empties to break this up! Vecchio tries to get away but Bobby gets back in there. The crowd struggles on the floor and around the stage until Vecchio runs for his life out the loser door. Casale on the mic…he promises to end Vecchio next Monday.
Main Event: Devin Reno vs Ichiban
Reno wants a shot at Bear Bronson. Bronson has put Ichiban in his path. Reno intentionally got himself counted out in Thursday after his “pinfall” got overturned. Can Reno get it done tonight? Ichiban is proving to be a resilient thorn but Reno is putting him through hell. Ichiban eats a full on bomb to the floor. Reno just pummeling as we mock him. Ichiban finally hits a cutter off the top rope to get some rest. Ichiban starting to roll finally…slingshot into the ring…stunner! Cross body for two! Tornado ddt for two! Reno might be spent! Ichiban firing up for the kill…Reno reverses it. Bald Bomb for two! He tries for that vertical cutter…ichiban knees him in the dome! 111! Splash to the back! Reno kicks out! They brawl to the floor again. Reno gets posted! He tags Ichiban on the way back in…Vertical Cutter connects! He gets right in ref Gina’s face. Reno is scaring her as Ichiban runs in and tries for the Rollup. Kick out. Ichi Bankai! Gina counts theee but she realizes it’s a mistake as Reno’s foot is on the rope. She turns to tell the timekeeper that match is still going…Reno with a low blow and hits a Bald Buster to get the three after an 18 minute WAR. I enjoyed this a LOT. Reno on the mic screaming that he told all of us that he’s the best. And next week, he plans to take the Open Championship off of Bear Bronson.
Next week is our last week before “The Great Divide” splits up the roster between their respective ambassadors. Those ambassadors will be announced THIS Sunday on Beyond Wrestling’s socials.
