AAA has been great and The Undertaker has been praised for booking but there are flaws. The AAA Trios Championship hasn't been defended in over a year, Noisy Boy lost to Jack Cartwheel and the next week Noisy Boy wrestled Rey Fenix for the Cruiserweight Championship, and the World Lucha Libre Tournament started and ended for no reason given. If I notice this, then fans would likely too. Why is there no complaints toward The Undertaker on this booking flaws like with Triple H?
I think a couple of things are in play. One, AAA is a much smaller brand from an exposure perspective than WWE. A lot of people that watch WWE do not watch AAA, so they don’t complain about what they don’t see. Also, there is way more good than bad in AAA right now so the bad doesn’t stand out as much.
So, Uncle Dave says Bayley has resigned using his magic eight ball (or one he shared with T.K.) while you guys say she hasn't. When he is proven wrong, do you think he will say he was wrong or just say his voices in his head misinformed him? I don't know, it probably could go either way...
Acknowledgment of errors is not a trait that I ever think of when Uncle Dave is mentioned.
Is there a behind the scenes explanation for the decline in booking. Did Trips lose a key piece of the creative team or did he just run out of steam?
I wish there was some intel on that. He did lose Brian James, but that wasn’t all that long ago. He does have things that are foisted on him by TKO, but I won’t give him a pass on the rest of the stuff he is booking that hasn’t been good.
Two things about Smackdown's that I would like get your thoughts on. Having the Tongans win clean (for a triple threat match) without Haku interfering makes them look strong right out of the gate. If that continues, that seems like smart booking to build dominant champions. Given that there are new tag team champions, is time to unite the Men's tag team titles? Neither roster is particularly deep for tag teams and having one set of tag team titles seems to work well for the Women's Division.
If they don’t plan to really push the division, I have no problem with them unifying the belts. In some ways they can do more harm than good to me. Take Bron Breakker for example. I think he’s better off with no Title rather than the tag belt.
What was the worst live pro wrestling experience you've ever had?
Other than going to a show that wasn’t good, I can’t think of anything terrible. I was at the fire show in ECW but I saw it happening and was one of the first ones out of the building. Maybe if I wasn’t, I would say that.
