RIC FLAIR FILES LAWSUIT OVER DIGITAL IMAGE RIGHTS, SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS

By Mike Johnson on 2026-09-08 15:15:00

The Independent reported today that WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has filed a lawsuit against FAM Networks, alleging they, "duped him into signing away the rights to his own image and likeness while promising him a six-figure monthly revenue stream that allegedly never materialized."

The article claims Flair says he signed FAM’s contract just 14 minutes after receiving it by email on December 5, 2025, without a lawyer reviewing it, allegedly giving FAM an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide license to use his name, image, likeness, voice, social-media accounts, and commercial identity.

FAM allegedly promised to arrange speaking engagements, appearances, and other commercial opportunities, with Flair receiving most of the revenue, but according to the lawsuit, FAM allegedly delivered none of those promised opportunities and largely just reposted his existing content.  Flair alleges FAM nevertheless monetized his Facebook page for as much as $20,000 per month, while paying him very little.  Flairs claims he has already lost at least $250,000 in revenue.

Flair also claimed FAM also took control of his social-media accounts and changed their categorization in ways that made it difficult for him to regain control.  It would appear his Twitter account would not be part of those accounts.  Flair told The Independent that he “wants to bury” the people at FAM Networks.

The Independent stated attempts to contact FAM through multiple departments failed; emails bounced back and its website contact form was reportedly not working.

Flair recently took to his Twitter accounts, stating that he was ordering his attorney (apparently he now has one) about his old ring robes being sold by those he alleges don't have a legal claim to them.

This led to former ROH owner Cary Silkin responding, asking Flair to pay him back $41,000 that Silkin, when he owned ROH, paid Flair in advance for appearances that did not happen:
