The NWA began a five-week NWA 78 special this past weekend with NWA Powerrr from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia.
They opened with the competitors in the NWA Championship match and their seconds in the ring. Kyle Davis introduced NWA President Billy Corgan, who promised they would make history tonight. Since he acquired and took control of the NWA, nine men have held the title, running down their names until he got to the defending Champion Thrillbilly Silas Mason. He put over that Mason just returned from Japan, where he defended the belt. He called for a contract signing tonight, so there is no shenanigans.
Aron Stevens declared Carson Drake is not the challenger tonight, but the uncrowned NWA Chapion. He said Mason was the company's biggest failure and disappointment. He said Mason should go back to drink mountain water with the jackals he calls family. Thrillbilly said unfortunately for them, Thrillbilly County runs through Thrilladelphia. He said he doesn't care how much money Carson has, he can't buy the title. He may have earned a title shot but that means he earned the ass whopping he's going to get tonight. Mason signed the contract.
Drake, getting some nice heat, said that Mason is disrespecting the NWA, Aron and himself if he thinks Mason had anything to do with the company getting the COMET TV deal. He said Mason has a lot of confidence for someone watching his house burn down. He signed the contract and declared Mason can't beat him.
Billy Corgan and ECW Original Lou D'Angeli joined Joe Galli on the call. D'Angeli noted the NWA sparked his love for pro wrestling, which led him to working for ECW and now he was back in the Arena for the NWA.
Sirena Veil & Alice Crowley with Paige Collette vs. Liviyah & Corrine Joy.
Joe started out and hit a headscissors into Crowley, who nailed Veil by accident. Collette grabbed her leg to prevent more offense. That allowed her team to hit a double suplex for a two count. Crowley nailed a belly to back suplex on Joy, then snapped her on the top rope for a two count. Crowley nailed Nova's Kryptonite Krunch for a two count. Joy broke free and tagged in Liviyah. She nailed a running boot on Crowley, then scored with a suplex. She nailed Veil with an airplane spin, drilling Crowley. Joey tagged in and nailed a facebuster on Veil. Liviyah went to the top but was knocked to the floor by Crowley. Veil drilled Joy with a spinning backfist and hit the Bloodbath for the pin.

They triple-teamed Joey after the bout, setting up Collette hitting a stunner. NWA Women's TV Champion Gisele Shaw hit the ring to make the save but was attacked. D'Angeli, who they noted had a long history with Shaw, came to the ring to help hget Shaw out.
Bryan Idol cut a promo, saying that Mike Mondo put his hands on his mother, so he wants to not only take out Mondo, but take out everyone in Aron Stevens' Federation of Champions. He said they can put a ladder in the ring and knock everyone off of it.
Brandon McCord and his McCord Collection were in the ring. They will have a Collection Showcase tonight:
NWA TV Champion Alex Mzry vs. Nihan Dragon.
Both are managed by McCord. Mzry nailed several kicks but was caught going for a bodypress. He escaped and nailed Dragon. Dragon charged him in the corner but Mzry moonsaulted over him to escape and went back to attacking the legs. Realizing this wasn't really working, the champ began to beg off. Mzry was nailed with a big dropkick for a two count. He tossed Mzry out but the champ grabbed the ropes and saved himself. Mzry choked him with the top rope. The challenger went to the floor but Mzry hit him with a torpedo dive, then followed up with another. He nailed third but Dragon still stayed on his feet.
They battled up the entrance aisle, where Dragon backdroppd Mzry on the entrance ramp. With under two minutes left in the 6:05 time limit, the champ returned to the ring to break a countout. Mzry was placed in the top. He kicked off Nihan and nailed bodypress to the ring. He scored with a series of right hands and shoulderblocked the larger Nihan in the corner. Mzry nailed a dropkick to no offense. Dragon snatched and chokeslammed him. He covered Mzry but the champ placed his leg on the ropes to break the pinfall. They brawled on the mat as the time limit expired.
Draw.
They kept battling as Brandon McCord returned to the ring as his group separated them.
Effy cut a promo. His TV debut didn't go according to plan but he gets to fight for the chance to become the top contender for the NWA Champion in three weeks.
Richard Adonis vs. Damian Fenrir vs. Axton Ray vs. Hayden Backlund - Winner to become new NWA Junior Heavyweight Champion
On commentary, Billy Corgan announced Slade was stripped of the belt and he didn't want to announce it in advance in order to prevent Aron Stevens from allowing Carson Drake to sign the NWA Championship contract vs. Thrillbilly.
Everyone battles. Adonis nailed a knee off the ropes on Ray. Ray snatched him with a powerslam for a two count but Fenrir broke it up. Axton nailed a delayed vertical suplex for a two count. Backlund slipped out of slam and rolled up Axton, scoring the pin.

Kerry Morton vs. Colby Corino.
The story was being the sons of stars made Morton arrogant and Colby hungier. Morton tried to stall early on but was hit with a pescado to the floor. Colby worked over Morton and brought him back to the ring, nailing a running forearm. Colby worked him over with right hands in the corner. Colby nailed an Olympic Slam, then hit a sunsetter for a two count. Morton snapped him on the top rope and then drilled him with a suplex into the ring. Aftr a break, Morton teased coming off the ropes but then jumped down and stomped Corino.
Colby caught him on the ropes and hit an armdrag into the ring. The crowd rallied behind Corino, who nailed a running forearm. Corino nailed a dropkick into the corner and drilled Morton with a hangman's neckbreaker. Corino went to the top but was drilled with a right hand. Morton attempted a superplex into the ring but Corino blocked it. He drilled Morton with a headbutt, sending him to the ring. Corino nailed a senton into the ring for a two count. Morton nailed Eat Defeat but Corino snapped him with a lariat. Morton caught Colby with a knee of the face, the Kiss It Goodbye, but Colby kicked out.
Morton was caught and hit with a full nelsoin suplex. Corino nailed a series of knees to the chest. Morton ducked one and drilled Corino in the back of his neck He attacked Corino's surgically repaired neck but the referee pulled him off, which made no sense. Corino spit in Morton's face. Morton nailed the Kiss It Goodbye and scored the pin.

The Mortons teased beating Corino with a steel chair but Alex Taylor, Morton's former partner in the Southern Six, came out to back up Corino as they went off the air.
