Welcome to PWInsider.com's WWE NXT TV report. I am filling in for Richard Trionfo.
We are live from the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida with Vic Joseph and Booker T on the call.
They showed a highlight reel of what happened at NXT Heatwave.
Zilla Fatu came to the ring. He said that while he didn't win the title, competing for a WWE Championship was amazing and it's just a matter of time before he wins it. Tristan Angels came out and said the fans are already bored of Fatu because he lost. He said the further down The Bloodline they go, the less talent they find. Angels doesn't know why Zilla thought he would win. He doesn't look or carry himself as a champion. Angels is the most handsome man from the UK, therefore the world. Zilla said he likes his accent but not his attitude. He offered to fight Angels. Tristan said he agreed. They scuffled briefly before Angels escaped the ring.
Backstage, Robert Stone said he would make that match for later tonight. Stone was in his office alongside EK Prosper and Saquon Shugars. Both Prosper and Shugars immediately voiced their desire for an NXT Championship match, to which Stone replied that both were being considered. Keanu Carver stepped into the room, saying that both competitors made compelling points. Carver turned to him with a grin and asked what his next move would be.
Filming from his car, Myles Borne admitted he had rewatched what he did to Tavion Heights at NXT Heatwave about a hundred times. Sensing that Heights was preparing to suplex him into the fifth row, Borne explained that he simply struck first to protect himself. He confessed he had been naive enough to believe he could make both money and real friends in this business, concluding with a defeated sigh that it sucks.
Naraku vs. Shiloh Hill
Booker T said this would be the most important match of Hill's life so far.
Hill gained the early advantage by trapping Naraku in a waistlock and slamming him hard to the canvas. Naraku answered back with a stiff chop and a shoulder block, but Hill immediately retaliated with a shoulder tackle of his own. As the momentum swung, Naraku halted Hill's momentum with a throat punch. Naraku rolled out of the ring and stripped the cover off the announce table. Hill pursued him outside, bouncing Naraku's head off the ring apron before rolling him back inside to land a diving flying clothesline. Unfazed, Naraku quickly turned the tide, hammering Hill with heavy strikes and clotheslines before grounding him in a tight crossface. Naraku followed up with a crisp suplex for a two-count, another clothesline, and a rest-hold chinlock. Hill fought free with a series of punches, but Naraku cut him down with a backfist for another two count.
Hill came back with a big boot, executed a gutwrench slam, and flattened him with a standing moonsault for a close two-count. Naraku resorted to another throat punch and planted Hill with a sit-out powerbomb, but Hill fought back with a pop-up uppercut as Naraku charged. With the referee's vision obscured, Naraku spat the dreaded green mist directly into his hand and wiped it across Hill's face with a claw, blinding him instantly. Naraku scooped up the blinded Hill and planted him with a sweeping leg slam, scoring the pin.
Sean Legacy, Dorian Van Dux, Noam Dar, and Romeo Moreno all debated over who should be next in line for a shot at the new NXT Tag Team Champions. They agreed to face off in a match later in the show to decide who is best.
Romeo Moreno & Noam Dar vs Sean Legacy & Dorian Van Dux
Moreno and Legacy had sprint of an exchange, but neither gained the advantage. Dorian Van Dux and Noam Dar tagged in. Dar’s speed initially offset DVD’s size advantage, but the big man eventually caught his timing and leveled Dar with a brutal clothesline. Legacy tagged back in to scoop slam Dar, setting up DVD to flatten him with a crossbody off the ropes. Moreno cut off DVD’s momentum with a kick through the ropes to make a blind tag. As Dar rejoined the fray, DVD attempted to use Legacy as a weapon, but the chaotic exchange resulted in Moreno and Dar locking in a simultaneous double ankle lock. Everyone battled at ringside. DVD halted Moreno with a powerbomb directly onto the floor.
DVD lifted Dar up for a delayed vertical suplex, mid-hold passing Dar off to Legacy to continue the display before Legacy finally dropped him for a two-count. Moreno stole another blind tag and immediately caught Legacy with a superkick, following up with a dropkick and a series of amateur-style takedowns. Dar tagged in and targeted Legacy’s arm. Dar and Moreno tagged in and out, cutting off the ring to stop Legacy from tagging out. Moreno scaled the turnbuckle for a moonsault, but Legacy dodged the splash and finally made the hot tag, allowing DVD to cleared house on everyone. Moreno sent DVD tumbling down the steel steps with a kick. Moreno held Legacy in position so Dar could launch off the top rope with a diving double stomp. Legacy moved, causing Dar to strike Moreno by accident. Legacy's knee slipped. Dar took advantage and scored the pin,
Your winners, Romeo Moreno & Noam Dar!
After the match, The Creeds returned to NXT, attacking and laying them all out. So, they are back in NXT.
Zaria announced she was retiring the Women's Speed title. As a result, Robert Stone announced the Men's Speed title was gone as well.
Cruz Montana wanted his title shot against Grayson Waller. Robert Stone said he had to wait until Waller spoke later on to see what was next.
WWE NXT Women's Champion Kelani Jordan came to the ring for a promo, bragging that once again, she won a title in her first attempt. She claimed Kendall Grey was hospitalized for vertigo after their bout. Jaida Parker came out and said her submission match win over Nattie should make her the next challenger. Parker said she's beaten Jordan in the past and said there's time left in the show and she has her gear with her, challenging for a title match tonight. Jordan said she agrees but for next week, saying she's not going to let Parker dictate when she will defend her title.
Thea Hail vs. Nikkita Lyons
The Women's EVOLVE title is not on the line. Lyons launched the match with a sharp spin kick, but Hail ducked under and leveled her with a Lou Thesz Press. Hail attacked Lyons' arm then came off the ropes for a crossbody, but Lyons caught Hail and slammed her. Lyons took over, beating and slamming Hail. Hail was trapped in a camel clutch, but escaped and went back to work over Lyons' arm. Hail went for a Kimura but Lyons slipped ouy and nailed a suplex. Hail came back and nailed her springboard senton for the pin.
Your winner, Thea Hail!
Mason Rook vs. Kam Hendrix
Rook attacked Kam before the bell. Hendrix removed a turnbuckle pad but it turned out to work against him when Rook splashed him from behind with an Avalanche. He slammed Kam into it again before slamming him and hitting a powerbomb for the pin.
Your winner, Mason Rook!
They noted on commentary that Kendall Grey would be out for the foreseeable future.
Sarah Schreiber conducted a backstage interview with Tavion Heights, who admitted feeling hurt and confused. Heights said his best friend stabbing him in the back hurt even more. The Vanity Project walked in. They knocked Heights until he challenged Jackson Drake to a title match. Drake agreed.
Zilla Fatu vs. Tristan Angels
Tristan Angels got in the early strikes, firing off on Zilla Fatu and sending him off the ropes. Fatu quickly cut off the momentum with a headbutt and a corner splash, following up with a backdrop. Fatu charged in for a second splash, but Angels raised his boots to block; Fatu caught his feet mid-air and slammed hard. Angels turned the tide by dropping Fatu throat-first over the middle rope, following up with a dropkick into the corner and a series of stomps. Fatu answered back by dumping Angels to the outside before wiping him out with a suicide dive through the ropes that sent Angels crashing onto the announce table. Fatu rolled Angels back inside and scaled the turnbuckle, but Angels grabbed the referee, creating just enough of a distraction to nail Fatu with a spin kick that sent him tumbling to the floor.
Angels tried to smash Fatu's head into the steel steps, but Fatu countered the attempt and brought the action back into the ring. Bleeding from the mouth, Fatu absorbed a suplex from Angels but kicked out of the pin. Angels tried for a second suplex, but Fatu blocked it, spinning around to unleash a backfist and a series of chops. Angels nailed a blockbuster that sent Fatu to the outside. Angels slammed Fatu's head into the turnbuckle, but the impact only fired Fatu up; powering through, Fatu smashed Angels' head into all four turnbuckles in succession. Fatu slammed Angels to the mat and dropped a senton for a two-count, but missed a cannonball attempt in the corner. Angels capitalized with a backstabber for a near-fall and attempted a superplex off the top rope, but Fatu fought him off, knocking him down with a superkick before planting him with a Samoan drop. Zilla nailed the Samoan Spike for the pin.
Your winner, Zilla Fatu!
Birthright attempted to recruit Fatu and he turned them down. They attempted to attack him but Fatu escaped.
WWE NXT Champion Grayson Waller came to the ring for a promo. He asked who would step up to knock him off his pedestal. After dismissing his challengers, including Zilla Fatu, Cruz Montana (while opening his hoodie to reveal a "Sad Montana" t-shirt, ouch), and Tony D'Angelo, Waller demanded to know who actually had the guts to face him. Saquon Shugars came out and said he won his steel cage match last week and was ready to face Waller. Montana then came out, saying Shugars wasn't ready but his own time was now. EK Prosper came out and said Montana had his shot but now it was Prosper's turn. Mason Rook and Tony D'Angelo followed.
Keanu Carver came out and suggested a six man tag for everyone, with the winners advancing to a Triple Threat. Stone made that official, sparking a huge brawl as they went off the air.
