THE COST OF BEING A WWE FAN, RAW RUNNING TIME, GREAT JOB BY AEW AND MORE

Who was the voice of “for life” in the NWO theme, it sounds like Dusty?

If memory serves, it was a WCW producer named Neal Pruitt who did the voice.

Do you guys know if Netflix changed their run time with WWE Monday Night Raw?

Since they air on a streamer, they don’t have a set run time.  On a week like this one, where the show is prerecorded at Smackdown, it’s understandable that it doesn’t run as long as a week when it’s live.

I caught the Will Osprey/Baba O'Reilly video and YouTube and thought it was very well done.  What are your thoughts?

That was extremely well done, for sure.  If they chose a classic Who song, it had better be!  Yeah, I am a big Who fan.

Busy Sunday, eh? Maybe a bit inside baseball here, but how busy is the PWInsider staff on a day with so many wrestling shows going on?

Obviously there is a lot more going on for us when we have the amount of shows that we had last Sunday, for sure.

More of a statement than a question. I can afford the ESPN WWE mess, it doesn't hurt me financially, but is it worth it? No, I am not paying for WWE on multiple streaming services. I have not missed a PPV or PPL for that matter. For the first time in my life I can't find a reason WWE is worth it. Long story short is WWE is alienating the very 35-55 crowd that can potentially afford this bullshi... To close this out, I canceled ESPN late last night as soon as I saw "price increase" and went straight to get an Elite subscription with PWinsider—proudly. Since freshman year of college I have followed you guys from the old site to the now well established super site, and Dave helped me on a legal paper concerning Lionel Tate many years ago. WWE currently does not hold itself as valuable, it looks like a TEMU business model, and it's not very memorable. As a lifelong democrat and current therapist, forensic psychology grad student, and a masters in Social Work it is tough for me to say Trump’s antics are more interesting to take in. Not more entertaining but more interesting and all he does is the same thing, different day, lie, rinse, and repeat. I guess his directly affects my life more. So if any question in this all, how do you feel about the pushing the quality aside for quantity? I know business is business, but long term planning seems missing here.

You hit on a few things, for sure.

I get ESPN as part of my Hulu Live subscription, which I would have whether I was a WWE fan or not.  But if I didn’t have that, wasn’t a sports fan and only bought ESPN Unlimited for WWE?  Yeah, that would be a hard sell for me right now if I were just a fan.  To your point, the character building and storytelling are really weak right now.  I would be hard pressed to pay whatever ESPN is charging for that app right now just to watch the PLEs.

The company is definitely spread out.  To them, that is good financially (at least for now).  They don’t care that a consumer now has to pay to access Raw, Smackdown and the PLEs, on at least two different services.  They care about the money that comes in from their rights deals.  When the business is hot, people will bite the bullet.  When it’s not, it makes it easy for people like you to save your money.
