AEW will present All In: Wembley on Sunday afternoon Stateside from London, Great Britain. Here is our take on what should happen!
Kenny Omega (AEW World Champion) vs. Will Ospreay
Cory - Ospreay pretty much has to win this, right? Omega turned heel to get him over, when Omega is closer to the end of his career than the beginning, he has the “I overcame so much” natural babyface story, and the crowd just wants to love him. Ospreay is set for the biggest win in AEW history here, and they should just do it without any shenanigans.
Mike - Unless there is some absolutely crazy angle planned, this has to be the coronation of Will Ospreay. I expect this is going to be awesome from bell to bell.
Willow Nightingale (AEW Women’s Champion) vs. Mercedes Moné
Cory - Every PPV, my friends and I will say, “This was Mone’s best match in AEW” almost forgetting how good she has been the last couple of years. Mone learned that you blow the doors off at a PPV, and she still does that now. Willow is super over with the crowd, and has connected with both the younger fans and the long-time fans, and her title run has gone better than expected in my mind. Mone winning won’t raise her up any further, but Willow getting the win here will cement her as a top star on the same level as Omega, Ospreay, and Moxley, so I am going with Willow for the win.
Mike - It's a real bummer to hear Nightingale suffered a broken hand as no matter how this goes, we'll never know if it could have turned out differently if she was 100%. In a perfect world, Willow conquering Mone makes the most sense, but I can absolutely see them using the injury as the crux of Mone winning.
Jon Moxley (AEW Continental Champion) vs. Nigel McGuinness
Cory - Mox has lost in a number of different matches, but he has kept this title for a while. Nigel going into the match with an injury tells us what the story will be: Mox is going to be targeting the injured foot relentlessly. There is a part of me that thinks that it will be an incredible moment for Nigel to win a title in Wembley, but is Nigel ready to wrestle more often to defend that title? I am calling for Nigel to get the big moment, the win and the title.
Mike - I wish they were bringing in Les Thatcher to watch his guys perform. I'm hoping for a Nigel win here. Hell, if Nigel won and then announced that was his last match, I couldn't think of a more perfect place for it.
Cage and Cope (Christian Cage and Adam Copeland) (AEW Tag Team Champions) vs. The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson)
Cory - There is a lot of juice left in the tank with Cage and Cope, as we really haven’t seen much of their interplay, and what we have seen has been really entertaining. However, they aren’t working much; Cope has the acting thing that takes him away at times, and there are a bunch of new, younger tag teams that work more in the Young Bucks' style. I have said before that I am not a fan of Babyface Bucks, but they can show up more often than Cope and Cage and can work better with the younger high-flying talent, so I am leaning toward the Bucks winning.
Mike - I'm expecting Cage and Cope to retain here. The Bucks don't need the titles.
Men's Casino Gauntlet match for a future AEW World Championship match.
Cory - If your story is that MJF feels that he didn’t really lose the title, he pretty much has to win here, doesn’t he?
Mike - Unless they are surprising us with Ilja Dragonuv, my feeling is it comes down to MJF and Andrade with MJF winning.
Divine Dominion (Lena Kross and Megan Bayne) (AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions) vs. The Brawling Birds (Alex Windsor and Jamie Hayter)
Cory - I am sorry, but the Dominion is profoundly boring to me. Endless squash matches, dull promos, and in my mind, they just have their size and their entrance. The Birds are a bit more entertaining; their matches are better, and the Dominion dominating the tag team division has almost killed it. The Birds NEED to win, and then AEW needs to rebuild the division.
Mike - I don't see a title change here.
Kevin Knight (TNT Champion) vs. Darby Allin - Falls Count Anywhere
Cory - The easy thing to do is for Darby to win. He’s been assaulted and sent to the hospital by Knight, but then, doesn’t EVERY heel send Darby to the hospital? In my mind, Darby shouldn’t be a champion, but more a man who is always out for revenge against someone, as that is where he does his best work. I also think Kevin Knight is on the way up and showing how good he can be, not just in the ring, but with his character work. If it were me, I’d have him win via underhanded means, not just to make Darby’s loss not feel as bad, but to further the doubt they're putting in him that he can win without the Don Callis Family. Knight retains.
Mike - I expect a lot of chaos and crazy bumps and people losing their minds for Darby, but I don't see a title change.
Kyle Fletcher (AEW International Champion) vs. Konosuke Takeshita vs. Kazuchika Okada
Cory - I know he was in Japan for most of the summer, but Takeshita feels like an afterthought in this match, which is NOT what Takeshita should be. The whole build has been with Fletcher and Okada, and it’s time for Okada to win and ignite the feud with Fletcher. I just think that Fletcher needs to remain a heel after he leaves the Don Callis Family because he is just so good at it. Okada wins.
Mike - I suspect Fletcher retains.
“Hangman" Adam Page and Brodido (Bandido and Brody King) (c) vs. Bang Bang Gang (Jay White, Austin Gunn, and Colten Gunn) vs. The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy, Kyle O'Reilly, and Roderick Strong) vs. Death Riders (Claudio Castagnoli, Pac, and Wheeler Yuta) vs. The Demand (Ricochet, Bishop Kaun, and Toa Liona) vs. The Dogs (David Finlay, Clark Connors, and Gabe Kidd) vs. Wild Card entrant
Cory - So, are Swerve’s partners going to be the New Day? It sure looks to be the case. We’re going to have every Trios team we know of, and maybe a few we don’t, and with so many teams, it’s hard even to know what they will do here. For storyline purposes, the Dogs winning would give the best lineup of feuds. I don’t WANT the New Day to win this title with Swerve, since it locks them into the Trrions division, and that would not be best for them or Swerve, but there is a chance they could win just for the moment. Right now, I am leaning 80% Dogs, 20% Swerve and his mystery partners.
Mike - It's a new day, for the trios titles.
