Perhaps they didn't know. Perhaps they called him Junior as a way to diminish him. I wouldn't know.

When WWE lost the rights to the WWF name, why didn't they just drop the letters and call themselves the World Wrestling Federation?
They lost the rights to the WWF name and even if they stopped referring to themselves as the "WWF", the common reference would be those letters and WWF could still be liable for confusion in the marketplace. Since the WWF.com domain name was also at issue, there was a need to re-brand the company name, which the company did an excellent job at.
Could it be Abyss is attacking everyone in AAA and TNA recently?
I don't think so. Abyss is retired and they've revealed the AAA attacks were done by a new character, El Carnicero.
All the talk of bad fan behavior made me wonder how dangerous the old ECW Arena was?
I don't think it was that dangerous once you were there. With a few exceptions, I never felt the place was a powderkeg and was going to blow. I always felt a big problem was that the place came off so crazy and edgy on TV that when ECW went on the road, fans who came to THOSE shows often wanted to imitate what they saw on TV - throwing chairs, getting into it with wrestlers, etc. and those places were a larger concern.
