Wrestling Open

8/27/26 Worcester, MA

Spotlight Match: As Above So Below (Buck Sawain & Brian Kilgannon vs Brick City (Victor Chase & Julio Cruz)

Sawain cracks Julio with a chop once…and then Brick City beats the hell out of him. Kilgannon gets the desperate tag and runs right into the same buzzsaw. Sawain starts spouting backwoods cult nonsense from the apron which lets Brian slip away from
Cruz and start getting some shots in with Buck joining in. AASB shine with their brutal brawling but Sawain gets shoved into a spine buster that gets Big Rizz in there. Brick City drop the cultists and Kilgannon eats Business is Booming for the three! I enjoyed this!

It’s the night before Americanrana in Cranston! Technically ALSO the night before my band DnA’s Evolution plays a show in Taunton. As well. I might miss tomorrow but tonight? I get to see Rain Conway get murdered by Murder Man Tim! …and other matches too!

Match 1: Nick Robles vs Mani Ariez (w/ Brother Greatness)

Nick is very confident and comes swinging but Ariez is rolling through him in a lot of this contest. Nick gets so desperate that he breaks a drumstick and tries to stab Mani. Ref Bill takes it away! Nick swinging the cowbell! Mani blocks it and rolls up Nick for the three. Solid fun opener!

Match 2: Sammi Chaos vs Ruthie Jay

Sammi gives Ruthie a ride on Air Chaos. Jay   Getting shots in but they seem like minor annoyances to Sammi, who just throws her whole self at the smaller Ruthie Jay. Sammi with a cross body catch and a slam down should end it but she pulls the pin. She wants to crush the life out of her. Jay with the escape. A tornado ddt plants Sammi. She slingshots in for a X factor! Top rope splash connects and Ruthie Jay has conquered Chaos!

Match 3: Rain Conway vs Timothy Thatcher

We’re doing the main event now???? lol. Rain has gotten so good at smack talk on the mic as he says Thatcher has five teeth and circus pants. Timothy rams him into the buckles, throws him down and starts twisting Conway’s arms and fingers up. By the way, Conway is facing Jonathan Gresham tomorrow at Americanrana. Hahahahahahaha! Rain gets a couple of shots in before Thatcher focuses on the legs and ankles. He pulls Rain into a split and starts pushing while chopping him up. Rain manages to get the arm and tries a kimura…it’s like Thatcher let it happen so he could get the legs, clover them and flip Conway into a vertical bow and arrow. Conway screams as he pops out and goes back to that shoulder! He’s trying a cross armbreaker! Thatcher working free but crawls into an ankle lock. Rain goes for the wrist but Thatcher just slams him. Rain might be winning the battle of attrition right now as this part is feeling way more even and dare I say, Rain’s winning? He’s rolling Thatcher around and TRYING to secure that armbreaker. Thatcher frees up…big hip toss slam gets some space. Conway right back in his face throwing forearms! Thatcher throws some bombs right back! Rain breaks Tim’s grip….but he can’t lock it back! Back to their feet, Thatcher rips Rain’s mouthguard out and slaps the f—- out of him. A butterfly slam and Conway is down for the three! This was a blast!

Match 4: Laynie Luck(c) vs Nessa Ferrari (for the WWE ID Women’s Championship)

Kylie Alexa cuts a video promo asking why Nessa is getting a shot as this belt. Considering she failed to dethrone Kylie, it’s a fair question. Nessa is a crowd fave but Laynie is taking her apart. Luck is normally a babyface but she’s showing a lot of aggressive heelish looks through this one. Nessa finally starts to fight free of the beatdown and staggers the champ with a forearm…and runs right into a boot. Ferrari is showing a lot of heart as she keeps getting back up. She goes on a run…a meteora connects for two! A bulldog for another near fall! Luck with a slingshot neckbreaker for two! The followup DVD puts Nessa down finally! Luck says “not yours. Not today. …maybe someday” and shakes Nessa’s hand.

It’s time for the Discovery Gauntlet. You gotta win it to stay in it! Tonight, we have some drama brewing!

Match 5: J Bouji vs Jodi Aura (Discovery Gauntlet)

Bouji stormed his way into the Discovery Gauntler while I was gone and dethroned Julezee. Tonight, Aura gets a chance to get one back on the man that attacked him last week and stole his spot. Aura is absolutely manhandling Bouji in the early going. He hits a really cool backwards mule kick during a leapfrog that pops everyone. Of course, Bouji takes it over and just stomps and smashes Jodi while arguing with the crowd and ref. Aura with a reversal into a ripcord northern lariat! Aura kicking him Apart! Bouji escapes a powerbomb into a delay falcon arrow! Bouji looking like he wants to put him to sleep with a slap but Aura has it scouted! Aura boots Bouji out of the air trying a cutter! Sit out last ride!! Bouji kicks out! Bouji pulls the hair to escape another slam. The slap staggers Aura. The springboard cutter does more. The package powerbomb puts the lights out and Bouji gets the three.

Match 6: 23 Hazard vs Julezee

23 Hazard failed to capture the Wrestling Open championship last week but it sure seems like he’s got an alliance with the Breadwinners now. But he’s especially mad at Julezee for sticking his nose into that match and trying to even the odds. This is kind of a perfect combo. Julezee brings the flash and fun and cheers. Hazard just won’t shut up and brings the brutality as he drops bombs and chokes Julezee with his own scarves. Hazard almost takes it home with a leg trip headlock ddt. Julezee with a butterfly vertical facebuster! We hit the ten minute mark as Hazard rocks Julezee with a discus elbow. He sets it up and hits that hidden shank for the three. Fantastic match….but boooooooooooo!

Hazard calls out Bear Bronson for next week. Hazard’s bringing the Breadwinners. Bear can bring whoever he wants because Hazard is gonna catch some bodies.

Match 7: Love Doug vs Big Bacon Brad Hollister

Doug wants to beat some sense into Bacon before their triple threat with TJ Crawford tomorrow night. Bacon says he doesn’t want to fight Doug. He doesn’t want to hit Doug. He says he’ll lay down for Doug if that’s what it takes. He says his focus is tomorrow and TJ. He just wants Doug to stay out of his way, Doug keeps shoving Brad until he gets shoved into the buckles. Bacon almost loses control and opts to walk out of the ring. Brad lets the countout happen and he takes the L.

As the bell rings, Brick City ambushes Doug from behind and pummels him. Brad’s not watching. He’s fine. But these ARE his boys. They hit Business is Booming and NOW BACON IS OUT HERE! He is mad and yelling at Brick City for this. He may not have ordered it but they did this for him. They leave together as ref Tiger peels Doug off the mat.

Main Event: Stetson Ranch (Steven Stetson & Brian Morris) and Devin Reno vs Danny Miles, Bobby Casale & Gabe Skye

A STACKED main event tonight! Miles & Co OWN the opening five minutes. Stetson is left helpless on the apron while Morris and Reno just take a beating. He finally blindsided Miles and crutches him into the post. The pendulum has swung hard in the ranch’s favor as they try to keep Danny isolated from his partners. Skye with the hot tag in on Reno and spikes him on his dome so hard he bounces back to his feet to beat a falcon arrow. Stetson ain’t letting this happen and just gets in there. Ref Bill has lost control of this. Skye getting triple teamed as Miles and Bobby recover to the apron. We may hate Reno but you can’t deny he is a showman. They are just triple stomping Skye while Ref Bill is too busy with Miles arguing this injustice. Casale finally tags in and just introduces them all to suplex city. Casale is HANDLING the Ranch. Reno saves Morris from being pinned about a sitout bomb….but it leaves him prime for a pair of splashes from Miles and Skye. The ranch breaks that pin up! Skye sends the ranch flying! Shining wizard for two! Gabe wipes out everyone with sliced breads! We have big moves everywhere but it’s Bobby Casale who sees Morris go for a pedigree and he rolls up Wonderbread as he leaps and gets the three! Brian Morris is shocked as we close the night! Will the ranch lose again tomorrow at Americanrana when they face the Shooter Boys???
