Spotlight Match: Devious Cass vs Vinny Talotta
Cass throws a spear right into Talotta’s knee. It’s a truly devious move! Vinny has the power. He catches a flying DC. He cracks him with a wicked chop but Cass is keeping him down and fighting from under…..working that knee over and over. Talotta finally makes the comeback and drops Cass for the three!
Match 1: Paris Van Dale vs Shannon LaVangie
Kylie Alexa and Paris walked out of their tag team match last week. Now Shannon has a chance to get a little back on at least one of her rivals. They have a fight. It’s going pretty back and forth but at the moment Shannon looks to have this locked up, Paris rolls out and makes like she’s gonna walk again. Shannon gives chase…she eats a post! Paris hits a gory bomb into the apron! Paris with a split legged face breaker….Shannon kicks out. She goes for a stuff ddt but Shannon rolls her up for the three.
Dustin Waller and Marcus Mathers are up on the stage with Rich Palladino to talk about the last few weeks of tension. marcus says Rich is the best at what he does…and Dustin is the worst. He says to Flyin’ Ryan at home that what happened last week was Waller’s fault. Waller says that Ryan got hurt….but Marcus WON. And that’s also Waller’s fault. Mathers wants a one on one match with Dustin. He wants Big Match Dusty this Friday at Americanrana. Waller is so confident in his acceptance that Marcus ALSO wants the Opportunity Knocks contract on the line. Dustin tries to laugh that off but Mathers get into his head with talk of his ten second title reign….and it’s ON! But Waller has a stipulation for the match…they have a main event match tonight in the Von Erich Classic. If Marcus can pin Waller in THAT match….he gets everything he wants on Friday. Let’s see what happens!
Match 2: Rickey Shane Page vs Oxx Adams
No BRG in sight. RSP might have a shot. Oxx wants to throw hands but Page is a brawler’s brawler. He pummels Oxx into the ropes and cross bodies him for good measure. Oxx dodges a cannonball and plants RSP with a side slam. He proceeds to beat down Rickey, Taunting him all the while. Page fights off several sleeper attempts and drops Adams with a ddt. He stuns Oxx with a boot and hits a twist of fate! Swanton connects!!! Oxx kicks out! Rickey comes in and eats a throat thrust. He tries a discus lariat but walks into the waiting hand of Oxx, who plants Page with a side chokeslam for the three.
Match 3: Devin Reno and The Verdict (Bryce Donovan & Vinny Scalise) vs Bobby Casale, Danny Miles & Bobby Orlando (Von Erich Classic Semi Final)
Reno and Bryce may have a ton of swagger but it’s “Mini” Vinny who is getting the crap kicks out of him by the Bobbinator. Donovan gets into there and almost loses control on Ref Gina AGAIN. Miles gets into there and Bryce is having a bad time in the wrong corner. Reno tags in…same story. Miles gets caught up by the opposing trio as they weaponize Gina’s attention to drop the Dreamcrusher. Danny gets mad when it becomes a pure three on one and finally drops Scalise and tags Orlando! Bobby runs hot and almost puts Vinny down with a missile dropkick! Bob Thunder Bomb! He tries the dab elbow but Vinny gets the knees up…lungblower! Orlando kicks out! Scalise Germans him into the buckles. Casale tags in and starts tossing everyone! Miles and Casale lay out the verdict! Reno shoulder blocks Casale out of the ring and it’s back to Miles staring down a triple beatdown. Reno slams Miles for the pin but Casale bombs Vinny into him! Miles tries to get Reno…Reno cuts him off but here’s Bobby Orlando! Orlando hits a sick trick cutter! He goes up for the dab elbow but here’s tweaks his knee! Reno plows through the limb and hits a vertical cutter for the win! Reno and the Verdict advance to the Finals! Crazy match.
Love Doug is out here. On Friday, he works out his differences with TJ Crawford and Brad Hollister. But he needs to make sure his level of aggression is READY for that…so he calls out Bear Bronson for a fight!
Match 4: Bear Bronson vs Love Doug
This is a WACKY match to see, even as a non-title affair. Bear grabs the mic. “You want a fight? Are you SURE that’s what you want?” Doug gets right in Bronson’s face and slaps him. Uh oh. Bronson charges in and pummels Doug in the corner. Doug pops up and asks for more. Bronson crushes him with a chop. Doug is fired up! He lands a back elbow and comes flying in….to the grip of Bear who slams him.l down. Bear landing massive shots but Doug keeps gritting his teeth and coming back. Doug starts to land clean. Bear is getting rocked. The bulldog connects! Bronson kicks out and he looks annoyed as Doug throws kicks at him. “If you wanna take on Big Business at Americanrana, you’re gonna have to hit harder than that!” Bronson yells at Doug to dig deep and HIT him. Doug finally lands a good shot and Bear turns him inside out with a clothesline. Doug escapes the chokebomb! Slice of Love! DOUG PICKS UP BEAR AND HITS AN AA!!!! Kick out. Bronson mad now. He hits a discus lariat and the chokebomb for real this time and Love Doug is down for the three!
Bronson stands over Doug. He says Doug showed a lot of heart and he hopes it brought what Doug needed out of himself for Friday. Doug slaps away the handshake?!? They hug!!!
Main Event: Marcus Mathers and Bustah & the Brain (Alec Price & Jordan Oliver) vs “The Flashy Undeniable Batteegence” Dustin Waller, Nick Battee & DJ Powers (Von Erich Classic Semifinal)
That is the worst team name ever. Waller reminds everyone of the stakes he set for Marcus Mathers tonight. I wonder if his partners are on the same page. B&B lay out Battee & DJ after they attack before the bell. Marcus nearly takes it with a rollup on Waller! Marcus doesn’t want to tag out but Oliver promises he’s got Mathers’ need in mind. They keep Waller isolated but he pulls the apron and That sets up Battee to blindside B&B. Mathers left to the wolves and they take a LOT. Every time he goes for a tag, B&B get pulled down or just wiped out. FINALLY, a tag to Oliver. DJ and Nick getting run over, especially once Price joins the fray! Double stomp electric chair to DJ! Kickout! Price with a high velocity cross body! Mathers in there, recovered and ready to throw with Battee….and then Nick blasts a knee to the ribs and we are back to where we were before. Suddenly….Marcus hits a hooking superkick on Battee! Rolling DVD! He won’t make the cover! Price and Oliver beg him to! Waller joins the fight with B&B entering the ring and they all get laid out. Waller and Price are first up. Waller taunting the Northeast Beast as he drops him repeatedly…but the Worcester madman isn’t staying down and comes rubbing repeatedly! Waller eats a double suplex combo! They get Mathers in there for the kill. He hits a riptide?!? Battee and DJ break up the pin! That could have been it! Waller baits Mathers into knocking over his partners…Mathers eats a triple slam splash combo! Mathers kicks out! Waller is furious! Mathers escapes the trio but there no one to tag again! Dustin tries to make a show of the kill shot but Marcus rolls him up for a close call! Mathers has Waller trapped and he can’t get the tag! B&B give Waller a taste of his own medicine and pull Battee and DJ off the apron! Waller doesn’t know what to do and in the confusion, Marcus rolls him up, traps the legs and gets the three! Marcus, Alec and Oliver are headed to the finals! But more importantly? It’s Mathers vs Waller on Friday night for the Opportunity Knocks contract at Americanrana!
The Verdict and Devin Reno come out to face down their opponents in the finals. It’s heated…it looks like it might explode…but then Reno & co back off and leave them hanging. Next week, the Von Erich Classic finals!
