The Smackdown main event delivered, as expected. Even though many seem to feel it was happening way too soon, I think they booked the finish about as well as they could. Sami was the heavy, KO had an out for losing, and Punk didn’t have to get shit on by the crowd for beating the hometown boy. What did you think?
Punk and KO had a great match, which shouldn’t surprise anyone as they are both great. I had theorized that we would see a finish like that one. Punk is the main draw in WWE right now (even over Roman Reigns due to the tepid storytelling surrounding him). It would have been foolish to take the belt off of him. So, they needed to do something and finally pulling the trigger on Sami’s heel turn was perfect. He got booed in Canada, so they did it right. Now, do I want to see Sami-KO feuding for the 900th time? Not really, but they did what they had to do.
Poor Giulia….
For sure. It sure doesn’t seem like she is long for the company at this point. They have totally blown it with her.
Which matches intrigue you most about Sunday Night’s Main Event?
Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes, by far. Due to Orton’s back injury, they couldn’t deliver at WrestleMania. I want to see them get the chance and do it in two weeks.
Am I the only one hoping that Baron Corbin just kills Lil’ Yachty? I think he’s an anchor to Trick, honestly. Trick is destined for bigger things, and I hope they deep six Yachty before Trick moves into the main event scene.
I get your point. Trick could use Yachty when he was a heel but he doesn’t need him now. He is ready to break out on his own. I could see Corbin smoking Yachty and telling Trick that he lost his shot. I would be fine with him moving to someone else.
Will Chelsea Green really get a chance with the Title to show what she can do?
I sure hope so. They really should find out how far she can go. Even thought it wasn’t their plan, they should run with her on top and see what happens. She has earned that chance.
