Brie Garcia details recent health scare (5:29-11:15)

Brie Garcia: When you're on painkillers, you get really constipated. I think sometimes that's the most uncomfortable part of the beginning part, because when you're on the painkillers, you're not feeling the pain as much, but it's the constipation that's awful and for people like you and I who are super regular, it really gets us, right? So super constipated. I wasn't the best at taking my meds.

Nikki Garcia: But I don't eat too much in the beginning, so I feel like-

Brie Garcia: I barely ate, so my thing is, so I decided to have my first meal out after 10 days.

Nikki Garcia: It was not after 10 days. There's no way you went and had your first meal out after 10 days. Was it 10 days or was it eight? I feel like you were a week out, but yeah, it doesn't matter. Kind of matters, actually in this situation. You were like a week out.

Brie Garcia: Yeah, so I was explaining to the waiter that I had to be like, I'm gluten-free, all the things. I felt like they understood, but then there's some things that felt a little confusing to them.

Nikki Garica: The best is when I was out with you at Erewhon, and then you asked about gluten-free, and they go, “Well, it's gluten-free as in we don't put the gluten in it, but it gets made on top of gluten,” and I was like, “So that's not gluten-free.” They go, “Well, so we're calling it gluten-free friendly.” I'm like, “This is the craziest conversation I had, so it's not gluten-free, because you put it right on top of gluten and you cooked it.”

Brie Garcia: Yeah, but so I think this happened to me. The confusion, but I was like, “Whatever, fine, I'm good.” Was not good. Go home, I get my severe crazy pain in my stomach and all this, and I knew it was coming, because it's weird what my body will start to do, but remind you all, I hadn't used the restroom for like eight days. If not, maybe I'm at 10. I don't know, which was-

Nikki Garcia: I mean you probably didn't use it till before the match, right?

Brie Garcia: Yeah.

Nikki Garcia: Oh God. You guys, that's SummerSlam.

Brie Garcia: My body went from zero to 1000 on the toilet, because what happens to me is I get really sick from both ends, so I'm on the toilet and my daughter's talking to me because she can tell me everything's wrong. I'm like, “Oh my gosh, Bird. Yeah,” and I'm like, “Okay, give mommy her space,” you know, because kids always want to be up in your space,” and I'm like, “I need my space,” so then I'm starting to feel like I'm about to pass out, so I'm like, “Bryan, Bryan,” and he wasn't coming. I'm like, “The fuck, I'm about to die. Come.” So, I call him. Thank god I had my phone because he was outside and he never answers or has his phone on him, so he's like, “Yeah?” And I go, “I'm about to pass out,” and I just hang up, so I hear him run. You guys.

Nikki Garcia: The flat feet.

Brie Garcia: Sure enough, I'm like timber, pants down on the toilet. Imagine, so Bryan comes, I'm passed out. So, my nanny was there to help. Thank goodness. She was actually just about to leave to go back home and Bryan screamed out for her, so she comes in. So, thank goodness she's in nursing school and I was definitely her first patient. She got to have a close look at what happens to the body. So, they carry me. By this, I'm completely out, like out. So, they carry me to my bed, our bed, and Bryan calls 911 because I'm incoherent. I had blacked out. I'm just not responding. They couldn't wake me up and my kids are screaming. I was like, “What the hell is going on?” And I was just taking a shit and this all goes down, so the EMTs come in and I kind of am waking up a little bit, but I guess I had to use the restroom. Now, I'm at this point not coherent, so I don't understand, but I guess I kind of mumbled something. So anyways, long story short, I shit my pants, but I did not know it, so I get put on a wheelchair onto a stretcher and then Bryan’s like telling them, “She has a broken scapula, be careful with her,” and I guess I kind of screamed out because how they grabbed my scapula and this is all happening now, that is happening in the front yard, and so when my neighbors were freaking out, so I'm in the ambulance and Bryan can't come with me inside and I was shivering to my whole body, I guess was shaking. I was telling them, “I'm freezing cold,” and they were hot, so they turned the air conditioning off. So poor, they're sweating. All of a sudden, I kind of wake up and I go, I was like, I go, “Oh, it smells like shit,” and I looked at them and they're like looking at me and I go, “Did I shit my pants?” and they go, “You did, but it's okay,” and I go, “I shit my pants,” and then I'm getting emotional, and then I'm apologizing. They're like, “Stop apologizing.” I go, “But I can feel it.” Super embarrassed.

Brie Garcia shares update on her recent injury (16:51-17:18)

Brie Garcia: I'm doing all my exercises, so that's good and I get my first x-ray. They're trying to get it this week, if not next week and I'll be getting it every two weeks, and then in five weeks, going for my CT scan, and then we'll see if the bones are fusing, so fingers crossed. Fingers crossed. If not, I don't know what they'll do.
