This week’s episode of Maple Leaf Pro Wrestling Mayhem is from St Clair College in Windsor, Ontario. Our commentary team is Don Callis and Mauro Ranallo.
Jay Lethal w/Lee Johnson and Blake Christian vs Psycho Mike
They lock up and move to headlocks and run the ropes. Lethal stops and struts. They lock up and go to headlocks. They run the ropes, and Mike gets a shoulder block. Lethal gets a takedown and lays in blows on Mike. He then pulls Mike out of the ring, and they fight on the floor. Mike slams Lethal’s head into the apron repeatedly. Mike hip tosses Lethal into the ring from the apron. As Mike preps for bodyslams, Lethal rolls out of the ring.
Mike goes to the floor, and Lethal shoves Mike into the ring post as we go to commercial.
When we return, Lethal is on top and goes for a diving elbow, and Mike rolls out of the way. Mike gets a big boot on Lethal in the corner and then gets a pair of cross bodies for two. Mike picks Lethal up, and Lethal gets a single-leg takedown, and Mike reverses it for two. Lethal goes for the Lethal Injection,m and Mike avoids it.
Mike sets out to give body slams, and when Lethal gets up, Mike gives him that Body slam. Lethal’s team members get on the apron, and Mike asks who wants to see another body slam. Mike gives Lethal another body slam as the ref is distracted. Lethal gets a cross chop to Mike's neck. Zach Gowan and Billy Gunn come to the ring to take care of Blake and Lee. The ref is knocked down in the fight.
Lethal is body slammed again, and Mike covers, but there’s no referee. Mike goes to the floor to wake up the ref. He rolls the ref into the ring, and Steve Maclin attacks Mike from behind. He gives a double underhook DDT, and Lethal crawls over to check the ref and then covers Mike for the pin and the win.
Winner: Jay Lethal.
Steve Maclin is now a member of Maple Leaf Wrestling, and he says no one is controlling him and that he’s a free man.
We get a promo from PCO coming to the show later tonight.
We then get more of the Adam Copeland interview about how he started in Canadian Pro Wrestling. He then puts over Maple Leaf Wrestling as a place for young talent to get noticed and make their mark on the world.
Kris Chambers w/Taylor Rising vs PCO w/Destro the Destroyer
Kris leaps on PCO’s back, and PCO pulls him over and slams him. Kris jumps on his back again, and PCO backs into the corner to dislodge him. PCO clotheslines Kris. Kris throws strikes and kicks, and PCO ignores them. PCO clotheslines Kris and himself over the top rope.
PCO rolls into the ring and dives onto Kris. PCO rolls Kris into the ring and joins him. Kris gives himself the sign of the cross and tries to strike again, and PCO headbutts Kris. He then gets a splash in the corner and ends it with a senton. PCO goes for a choke slam, and Kris tries unsuccessfully to fight out of it. PCO gets the choke slam and goes to the top and hits a PCO sault for the pin and the win.
Winner: PCO
Taylor Rising tries a low blow from behind, and PCO doesn't sell it. He goes for a choke slam, and Kris nails PCO in the back with the ring bell to stop him. PCO rises slowly from the attack, and both Kris and Rising run to the back.
We get a brief hype video for the main event match, coming up next.
Gisele Shaw (MLP Women’s Champion) vs Dani Luna
They lock up and go into the corner with Shaw breaking clean. Shaw poses for the crowd, and Luna grabs a waistlock. And when Shaw breaks free, Luna gets a shoulder block and then a corner clothesline. Luna misses a basement clothesline, and Shaw gets a crucifix pin for two. Luna gets a rollup for two.
They pause, and the match resets as they get to their feet. Shaw slaps Luna and then gets a chop in the corner. Shaw gets a snapmare and a kick to Luna’s back before covering for a two-count. Shaw rubs Luna’s face in the mat and pulls her up. Shaw gets a chop, and they run the ropes with Luna getting a shoulder block, a scoop and a slam, and a sliding clothesline. Shaw rolls out of the ring to regroup as we go to commercial.
When we return, Shaw whips Luna to the corner and gets a series of attacks there. Shaw then gets a spinning DDT out of the corner for two. Shaw mounts and pounds Luna. Shaw stands up, and Luna grabs her leg. Shaw drops a series of knees, and then pulls Luna up. Luna gets a back elbow and then a l=pump kick. Luna gets a pair of lariats and gets a fireman’s carry. Shaw escapes, and Luna comes off the ropes with a dropkick.
Both women are down, and Luna crawls to pull Shaw up, and Shaw reverses into a rollup for two. Luna gets a power bomb for two. Luna slowly crawls to pull Shaw up, and Shaw gets a sunset flip for two. Shaw gets a big kick, and then they fight in the corner. Luna pulls Shaw in from the apron by hitting a second rope suplex for two. Shaw crawls to the corner. Luna hoists her, and Shaw pulls the turnbuckle pad off as Shaw escapes.
Luna tries for an Alabama slam, and Shaw turns it into a Destroyer. Shaw gets Shock and Awe for two. Shaw rolls to the floor and snaps at the crowd cheering for Luna. Shaw grabs her belt and throws it into the ring. The ref grabs it, and they fight over it. The ref takes the belt and tosses it to the floor. Luna gets a springboard Luna Landing, bouncing Shaw off the top rope for two.
Luna pulls herself up by the ropes, and they throw hands in the middle of the ring. Luna hits a spin kick, and Shaw gets a spinning back fist. Shaw then runs Luna’s head into the exposed turnbuckle for the pin and the win.
Winner and still MLP Women’s Champion: Gishele Shaw
We get a promo in the back from Steve Maclin, and he says he is here for Mayhem for all.
We then go to Stu Grayson, who says he doesn’t speak often, but when he does, he has something to say. He can’t remember the last time he felt so proud. He thanks the fans in attendance and at home. He says it proves to him one thing: he is the best wrestler in both Canada and the world. And as long as he has the belts, he is the champion.
This brings out Josh Alexander. Josh holds up his MPL Title as does Stu, and we are desperately out of time.
