Spotlight Match: Colt’n Charles vs Brother Greatness
It’s a David vs Goliath situation for the holy man tonight. Charles just pummels BG to death. Every attempt at fighting back is met with just….violence. Greatness is about to eat a powerbomb when his prayers are answered with a rollup that gets the three! Greatness wins!!!!
We open tonight’s broadcast with the Discovery Gauntlet. You gotta win it to stay in it!
Match 1: JULEZEE vs Elijah Drago
So…Drago is basically IVAN DRAGO from Rocky IV. Julezee looks nervous but puts a sticker on his forehead. Drago just starts murdering Julezee. This is kind of like the spotlight match but I don’t think the Lord is intervening in two subsequent matches. Julezee with a small rally and eats a gutwrench cutter! Kick out! Out of the blue, he hits his spin kick! Drago is rocked! Yakuza kick! Running headbutt! Drago’s out in his knees as Julezee hits another running headbutt and we have a second giant conquered with a three count! Julezee’s run continues for another week! Pretty impressed with Drago tbh. I’d like to see him smash more people.
Match 2: Kylie Alexa(c) vs Nessa Ferrari (for the Wrestling Open Women’s Championship)
The crowd is noticeably split here. Nessa has been endearing herself to Worcester but there’s some ride or die Alexa fans, despite her ‘tude. Kylie bullies her into the buckles and to the mat but Ferrari keeps bouncing up…and nearly catches her sleeping with a three out of nowhere! Alexa with a hangman’s kick to the chest and then a near gruesome stomp to the spine. She chokes her challenger in the ropes. She boots her in the face. She stands on her hair and just rips her up. Nessa finally escapes…head kick! High cross body for two! Kylie catches her springing with a superkick. Nessa lands in the corner and the basement dropkick puts the lights out for the three!
Lauren St. James runs down to check on Nessa but Kylie attacks her. Lauren blasts her with a back elbow and sends the champ running! Is Lauren next up for the golden opportunity?
Match 3: 23 Hazard vs Shawn Knyte
Boy do we HATE 23 Hazard! Knyte definitely uses the fact that we are deep in Hazard’s brain to overwhelm him early. But then Hazard hits a lungblower, countering an up and over in the corner. He beats down the Prince. Knyte tries to come back but Hazard hits that Temu Hidden Blade and gets the three.
Afterwards, he calls Bear Bronson a coward for not being here. Hazard wants the gold. He MIGHT get it…somehow.
Match 4: Devin Reno vs Ichiban
Every week that goes by, we get more bald names for Reno. He hates all of it. Ichiban flipping and flying but Reno keeps finding ways to put a hurt on him. And Ichiban keeps kicking out. Devin’s veins start popping and he rages out…and chokes Ichiban in the corner so long that Ref Bill has to DQ him! Reno is furious and starts choking BILL! Ichiban finally makes the save but who attacks BILL?!? If Open officials are predictable…Reno might find himself suspended for a bit.
Match 5: Steven Stetson vs Bobby Casale
Casale has wanted this for weeks and he finally gets it. These two just beat the heck out of beat other. Back and forth, hard strikes and slams. Stetson’s experience starts to overwhelm Casale but Bobby eats the shots hungrily. Stetson keeps going but then Bobby gives him a taste of his own medicine and rolls him up with a handful of tights for the three! The crowd LOVED this hoss fight but then Stetson spoils the mood by hitting the North Jersey Lariat and leaving Casale on the mat. Boooooo!
Match 6: Big Bacon Brad Hollister vs TJ Crawford (Special Referee Love Doug)
Doug doesn’t want these two fighting. He doesn’t want them cheating. But he’s gonna call it down the middle? Big Business is really going through another re-org tonight. TJ and Brad are going at it and Doug just won’t let them go too hard. They finally just go into the crowd to avoid being interrupted…but Doug might quick count them to end this? Doug gets to nine after they suplex on the floor….he goes out and throws them back in the ring?!? Does he want them to fight or not?!? TJ drop toe holds Bacon into the ropes and capitalizes. “TJ, what the hell are you doing?!?” Bacon rallies back and hits his corner hip attack. He steps on TJ’s ankle and holds him there to set up an ankle lock. TJ uses Doug to escape the hold! We get even more Chaotic as Doug gets sick of TJ’s cheating, he throws the petals in his face! Bacon with a popup bomb! Kick out! They keep it going…Doug has had it and throws a Rebound! BACON EATS IT! Doug with the slow count! Brad kicks out! TJ grabs chairs and looks to pillmanize Bacon. Doug won’t let it happen! TJ smashes him into the chair! TJ looks to finish the job! BRICK CITY IS HERE!!! They are on TJ’s side???? Noooooooo—ITS A TRAP! They hit Business is Booming on TJ! They wake up Doug and he makes the count! Bacon gets the three!!!! Doug is FURIOUS when he realizes how this went down and he abandons Brad and Brick City in the ring as they celebrate.
Main Event: Dustin Waller vs Sammy Diaz (w/ Brother Greatness)(Anything Goes)
Refs Bill and Gina are already wearing the work gloves for this heated grudge match. Dustin comes out and makes a point that he brought HIS DAD to the show, the thing he’s been needling Diaz for weeks over. Greatness heads to the safety of commentary but he’s worried when the oldest dirtiest ladder I’ve ever seen comes out. Sammy eats the ladder. He eats multiple kendo shots. Waller empties a bag of legos on the mat….and Sammy hits a Styles Clash into them! Diaz looks to murder Waller with a chair to the head…Waller with a low blow! Waller pulls off his belt…Sammy with his own low blow!!! Waller whipped repeatedly! Flying knee! Kick out! He sets up the ladder….worlds strongest slam! Waller out and heads up the ladder….Flash Splash onto Sammy and legos! Kickout! Waller having his dad get him a chair?!? His dad gets into the ring. He won’t let Dustin crack Sammy?!? He gives the chair to Sammy. It’s a trap! He kendo’s Diaz in the back! Another flash splash! Sammy kicks out!!! Dustin’s dad lays out Sammy on some chairs to set up another splash…Brother Greatness runs in and KENDO STICKS FLASH’S DAD!!!! Sammy hits a super Michanoku driver through the chairs!!!! Sammy gets the three!!! The Walkers leave out the fire door as the crowd mocks them! Sammy and Greatness leave exhausted…but Victorious!!!!
