It's well known Kevin Owens is boys with The Young Bucks. Now, he's in a program with CM Punk. Problems on the horizon?
I don't think so. One never knows, but I don't think anyone making the level of money Owens and Punk make at ths point are going to ruin it for themselves. Plus, I don't think Owens fought for 15 months to get back to the ring just to get into a fight with someone - I would think he's thankful just to be able to perform again, and he should be, the same way Punk should be happy he's at that level of success today. I just don't see it happening.
OK, the questions regarding the dumbest things you've seen at pro wrestling have cracked me up. What were the most disgusting?
Throwing out rude things yelled by fans (which is a by-product of pro wrestling inviting fans to jeer and give crap to talents they don't like), three things come to mind.
A - Fans who touch blood, whether they think it's fake or not.
B - There was a mother and her son who were disrespectful at an ECW event in NYC that had a ten bell count salute to Rick Rude. They were so loud and disrespectful that Paul Heyman, The Dudleys and more came out, ripped them apart on the microphone and then forced them to take a refund before ejecting them. I don't know how someone could be more disgusting than that, except...
C - Years ago at an ECW show in Philadelphia, Beulah McGuillicuty took a piledriver from Tommy Dreamer and rolled outside to the apron. The move had flipped her skirt up, and she pushed it down. A fan (the same one who I mentioned hit the ring on Lawler once) reached over the railing and pulled the skirt up, so he could take pictures of her in that state. Even for ECW, this was over the top and security removed him from the show. When the show was over, the fan was still arguing with security that it was wrong he was ejected. If something like that happened today, the fan likely would have been arrested.
I just read the Q&A and there was a question about Oba Femi not signing for a kid at the airport. I saw that video and while I can't say Oba was aware or not, it was a father making his kid ask for an autograph and the kid didn't even know who Oba was. I've seen other videos from the same people with different merch of wrestlers that they take out to sign. They did it with Jacob Fatu, Rey Mysterio and Stephanie Vaquer. It was pretty pathetic to see.
If that's the case, Oba had every right to blow off the autograph. There are other stories of him doing that to other kids, however, so hopefully it's just a similar situation.
Should Tony Khan partner with NJPW and CMLL to create shows that tours mostly in the United States? Similar to what NJPW tries to do with NJPW Strong but make it more consistent. Maybe the shows can air on My AEW streaming service.
I don't think so. I think those promotions all have their own thing going and I don't see the financial upside to them touring in the States right now. I just don't see the appetite for it right now
Michael Cole mentions all referees by name except for one, Danilo. Not once. He's always just the official, or referee, never called by name. At SummerSlam, he actually referred to him as Dracula, making fun of his look. Any reason why? do what
My guess is he's jist ribbing Danilo with the Dracula reference. No idea whether he never actually mentions him or not, but I don't think it's purposeful if he doesn't.
Are there any moves being used by wrestlers regularly that you think should be used less or banned by their employing promotions entirely?
I think anything that drops people on their heads or necks should be kept to a minimum, but the problem is that once wrestlers start wrestling, they often do what they want. They'd rather apologize than ask permission.
