We begin with a graphic In Memory of Dory Funk Junior.
Cody Rhodes makes his way to the ring.
Cody wants to know where Randy Orton is and he tells him to come out right now. We all want it so why not do it now?
Cody says while we wait, he wants to know what Philadelphia wants to talk about.
Cody wants to talk about memories. He mentions the loss of Dory Funk Jr. Memories like Wrestlemania 40. Where was John Cena, Sami Zayn, and Randy Orton? This weekend, I lost in the center of the ring against the best in the world, CM Punk. Cody says he will assume that Punk didn't know that Randy was going to roll into the ring to hit Cody with an RKO.
Say his name . . . and the riff appears. CM Punk makes his way to the ring.
Punk says he heard his name so he wanted his music played before his friend asked him a question. Is there something you want to ask him?
Cody asks Punk if knew that Randy was going to be there over the weekend.
Punk says it kinds o hurts, but he didn't know Randy was there or hit an RKO. Punk says he isn't as mad as Cody but he is pissed. They can two man power trip and find Randy and kick his ass.
Cody says he needs the answer from Randy and he will kick his ass by himself.
Cody leaves the ring for Punk.
Punk tells Cody that unfinished business, say when.
Kevin Owens' music plays and he passes Cody in the aisle on his way to the ring. Kevin accepts Cody's mic.
They move closer to each other and have some words for each other.
Nick Aldis makes his way to the apron to stand in the background between Kevin and Punk.
Kevin says he didn't see Nick. He says they are pros. You told them they have to be professionals.
Punk asks if Kevin is here to claim his title shot.
Kevin says he wrestles in shorts, not pants. He does want to wrestle Punk and that is all he wanted to do for the last 17 months. That is a long time to be told you might never get a chance to do what you love again. Kevin says he didn't choose. He was forced to leave and he lived in uncertainty. He has proven people wrong his entire career and here he is. Kevin responds to the crowd by saying he never lost it. You are proving him right. For three years, people have been tellling him to give Phil another chance. He is changed and a different guy. Kevin says he never bought it. He knows who Punk is and he has proven him right. You showed the arrogance to tell Cody to say when, but Kevin reminds Punk that he is the number one contender.
Kevin says he is not surprised that Punk thinks he is better than him because he thinks he is better than everyone. That is why Punk is still the arrogant sociopath.
Punk says people love when he calls himself the best in the world.
Punk tells everyone to leave because he can handle it.
Some might not like it when he calls himself the best in the world, but he backs it up. The title means he is the best in the world. Punk says he doesn't understand that Kevin cannot appreciate the arrogance. Kevin has benefited the most to get guys like him through the door. They called him skinny-fat. Do you think they were waiting around for Kevin Owens?
Kevin tells Phil it has been ten years since the last time he was World Champion. He has pictured winning the title and it felt so great, but not it can be better because he doesn't just get to win the title, he gets to humble Punk and beat his ass for it.
Punk says it is good to have impossible dreams and he says he sees that Kevin is scared. You should practice some gratitude. You would be working a 9 to 5er being a weekend warrior, while asking him for tickets for him and his kid. You say he thinks he is the best in the world? Punk says he knows and so do they.
Kevin says Punk is right. He should be grateful and thank Punk for blazing the trail and kicking the doors down. He should also thank him because you showed him what not to do. What not to become. HOw not to treat people around you. You showed that people believe the crap coming out of their mouth when they say they are the best in the world. You must be so lonely on that pedestal. Kevin thanks Punk because seeing what Punk has become has made him choose not to be a miserable piece of s*** like Punk.
Kevin pushes Punk and officials separate them.
Kevin tells Nick to do it.
Cathy is with Charlotte Flair.
She asks about her and Jade.
Flair says it has been years. They went face to face when she arrived. She showed strength and that she wanted to be the top girl. Tonight, she is fighting for Lexi. You have her attention after telling Lexi's daughter that her mommy will be okay. She tells Jade to come alone.
Trick Williams tells Baron he is getting his rematch. The only reason you have the title is because you cheated and took short cuts. You don't have what it takes to beat him. He will beat Corbin down and he will do it for himself.
Match Number One: Trick Williams versus Baron Corbin for the Men's United States Championship
Trick charges at Baron but Baron with a double leg take down. Trick sends Baron to the floor and chops him. He sends Baron into the ring post and chops him. Trick Irish whips Baron over the ringside barrier into the time keeper's area. Trick with a plancha and we have run through the commercial free time in the US. Trick chops Baron. Trick with punches and they return to the ring. Trick with a shoulder tackle and he sends Baron back to the floor. Baron with a punch and he sends Trick into the ring steps. Trick iiwth punches and a kick but Baron with a back elbow. Baron with a chop and punches. Baron kicks Trick in the corner. Trick with punches but Baron with a kick and punch to Trick.
Baron punches Trick a few times. Baron with an Irish whip but he misses a clothesline but Trick with a few jumping side kicks and a spine buster. Trick with a slap and meme kicks in the corner. Trick gets Baron up and he hits a sit out Death Valley Driver for a near fall. Baron blocks the uranage and Baron gts Trick up but Trick gets to his feet and Trick with a cyclone kick. Baron with Deep Six for a near fall. Trick and Baron exchange punches. Trick with a jumping neck breaker and he clotheslines Baron over the top rope to the floor. Baron runs Trick into the ring post and connects with forearms. Baron sends Trick back into the ring and he gets the title belt.
The referee takes the belt and Trick with a uranage for a near fall. Trick sets for the running knee but Baron stops him. Trick hits the jumping knee and Baron gets his hand on the rope to stop the count. Baron rolls to the floor and he grabs the title belt and he hits Trick with it for the three count.
Winner: Baron Corbin (retains championship)
Nick is on the phone and Sami shows up and he wanted to congratulate Nick on his SummerSlam performance.
Sami wants to know how many times will he be screwed over by Sami. He would have been champion if he didn't add CM Punk in Chicago. He would be number one contender if he didn't add Gunther and Kevin.
Kevin shows up and Nick says they have stuff to deal with.
Kevin says he wants his title match in Toronto on August 21st.
Kevin welcomes Sami back and he says Sami doesn't look sincere.
Sami says he is happy to see Kevin back. Now you have a title match with a chance to win the title in Toronto. He wants Kevin to say that his return screwed Sami.
Kevin says it messed things up for Sami.
Sami wants him to say he is sorry.
Kevin says he is sorry it affected him, but you would have done the same in his situation. Kevin says he won his last match before his injury and it was against you.
Sami says he wants to see Kevin win the title, more than Punk.
Kevin says he doesn't want Sami's help.
Sami tells Kevin he won't stop chasing what he wants because it is what you want.
Cathy stops Baron in the back and she asks about the two upsets.
Baron is insulted that he would be the underdog? It is because nobody believed him. He says he hopes the doubters feel stupid. Trick will never get his hands on this title again. There is a no manin the locker room who can step to him.
Carmelo Hayes shows up and he attacks Corbin.
Hayes says next week, they are meeting for the title in his home town.W
We take a look back a the Ladder Match.
Chelsea Green makes her way to the ring.
She says she loves everyone. She says she appreciates everyone sticking with her and pledging allegiance. That is why she is the WWE Women's Champion. She says she wants to thank herself. She says she wants to thank Tiffany Stratton and she asks her to come out.
Tiffany Stratton makes her way to the ring.
Chelsea says she wants to apologize about what happened because their friendship is stronger. She wants to have a toast for strong female friendships.
Fatal Influence interrupt Tiffany
Jacy says that is enough of this cringy little soap opera. If it wasn't for Tiffany, she would have been the WWE Champion on Sunday. Reid says all of them would be draped in goald. Fallon says we have Chelsea instead representing Smackdown. You think you deserve it.
Green says that is rude and she is trying to celebrate her moment. Jacy says Tiffany took away her chance at the title, so she is going to take Tiffany's title.
Tiffany accepts if they will put the tag titles on the line tonight.
Match Number Two: Tiffany Stratton and Chelsea Green versus Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships
Green and Reid start things off and Reid sends Green to the mat. Green escapes a slam and she goes for a hip toss but Reid blocks it. Reid misses a forearm and Green goes to the floor. Green misses an elbow drop and Reid misses a slingshot senton. Green sends Reid face first to the mat for a near fall. Tiffany with a splash to Reid and Reid avoids a drop ick and hits a Code Breaker but Tiffany with a handspring. Tiffany with an arm drag to Fallon but Fallon blocks a second one. Fallon with an elbow and a jumping back heel kick to the back of the hed. Tiffany with a handspring cutter. Tiffany avoids Reid and Green sends Reid into the ropes. Green and Tiffany with double knee strikes to the back and stereo dives.
Green with a German suplex and Tiffany tags in. Tiffany with clotheslines and a back elbow. Tiffany drop kicks Fallon to the flor. Tiffany with a cartwheel into an Alabama Slam and then she goes up top for a Swanton. Tiffany hits it. Fallon iwth a forearm to Tiffany and Green tags in. Fallon charges at Green and goes over the top rope to the floor. Reid escpes UnprettiHER and Reid with a kick from the apron. Green with a kick on the turnbucles and a press slam. Jacy pulls Tiffany off the apron and Jacy hits Green with a rolling encore. Fallon and Reid hit Fatal Flaw for the three count.
Winners: Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid (retain championship)
After the match, Lash Legend and Nia Jax send Tiffany to the floor but the referee holds them back from going after Green. Nia gets the title belt and stands over them.
We go Cathy with Priest and she asks about what happened.
Priest talks about what has happened between them and the MFTs. They will kick their ass again.
Erik says it is cute that you are pissed now. Ivar says they will be double champs.
Truth says they aren't scared of them.
Next week, they will defend the titles against you and the MFTs.
Priest is not happy that only their titles are on the line.
We go to commercial.
We are back with a look back at Brock Lesnar.
Randy Orton makes his way to the ring.
Randy starts to talk but Cody's music interrupts.
Cody runs to the ring and Randy rolls to the floor.
Cody asks if this is how we are going to do this when we know how this will end up. You owe him an explanation.
Randy says he doesn't owe Cody jack. You asked for this. During the Road to Wrestlemania, you asked for the best version of Randy Orton. He calls him a cocky, arrogant son of a bitch. Randy says he played Cody's game. He gave you the best version and what did you do? You beat him. Congratulations. In that moment, something snapped. It got louder and louder and the voices came back. They told him to do whatever he had to do to kick you in the face as hard as I could. In that moment, I knew the best version wasn't going to bring home number fifteen. The worst verson can and will.
He doesn't care who has the title. He knows it won't be Cody because he will sure that you are never WWE Champion again.
Cody asks where is the title now? He says he is not held to the standards of a champion. He says he doesn't have to turn the other cheek. He doesn't have to be the good guy. Forget about the title. You call yourself the legend killer, but you are the last legend. Who kills you?
Sami is in the back with Candice and Johnny. Sami says he is a little jealous of Kevin. Not because he is wrestling Punk, but because he can call him a fraud to his eyes.
CM Punk shows up and he asks if they are still doing this? He says he is talking about crying behind his back. At least Kevin has the decency to say it to his face.
Sami tells Punk his days are numbered. Sami says he has a broken bone in his hand and Punk laughs. He said he would punch Punk in the face. Punk says he would have done it.
Punk tells Sami to get in the back of the line. He says that he would give Johnny or Candice a match first.
Jade, Michin, and B-Fab talk and Cathy asks about her match with Charlotte.
Fab says they don't care what Charlotte has to say. She should learn to keep her mouth shut. She is nothing compared to Jade. Michin is jealous of Jade. The only thing missing from Jade is the title. Jade says this is business as usual. She will whoop that ass.
Nikki Bella says she tried to be so supportive of her sister and she made the unselfish act for a friend. She brought in Paige. Nikki says Brie deserved better. She came back to fight beside her sister. Paige failed them again. That was the final straw. Because of you, her sister is hurt. She will make sure that you feel the pain. Whatever careeer you have left will be pure miserable.
Next week, Jacy Jayne faces Tiffany Stratton for the US Title. R Truth and Damian Priest defend the tag titles against the War Raiders and MFT. Carmelo Hayes faces Baron Corbin for the US Title.
Shinsuke Nakamura tells the Tongansyou think you have evolved. You hae a new leader, but you have past enemies. You need to remember who he is. He is the King of Strong Style. He says he is back and this time, he will not be along. He says he is strting a war and he is not a one man army. They whill show who are warriors and who ar pawns.
Match Number Three: Charlotte Flair versus Jade Cargill
They have words for each other before locking up. They lock up and they go to a stalemate. They lock up again and go to another stalemate. Flair with a monkey flip and she holds on. They roll to the floor. Jade sends Flair into the apron and then back into the ring. Jade with a shoulder tackle and she poses. Flair gets up and she mocks Jade. Flair clips Jade and clotheslines her. Flair with a snap mare and a fire four head scissors and she rolls Jade through. Jade holds on and goes to the floor and she hot shots Flair onto the announce table. Jade sends Flair into the ringside barrier and Flair goes into the crowd on top of a member of security. Jade chooses to pose some more.
