AEW Dynamite is live from Arena Mexico in Mexico City. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and Nigel McGuinness.
Adam Copeland, Christian Cage, Matt Jackson, and Nick Jackson vs. The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, PAC, Daniel Garcia, and Wheeler Yuta)
PAC and Cage start the match, and they move quickly to armbars. Cage goes to run the ropes, and Garcia kicks him in the back, which sets off the tag team siren, and everyone is brawling in and out of the ring as we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, Nick has been the babyface in peril through the break. Nick is finally about to slam Yuta and Garcia’s heads together and is crawling to the wrong corner. He finally gets to his corner and tags in Cope, who cleans house. Mox cuts him off with a cutter and goes for a spear, but Cope leaps over it. Cope is able to hit a splash on Mox’s back in the ropes, and Cage is able to stand on Mox’s back on the second rope; Cope and Matt give Mox a tiger feint kick.
Cage goes to the top for a diving headbutt. Cage gives Mox a low blow as Cope distracts the ref. The Bucks hit superkicks for two. The Bucks dive onto Mox’s teammates, and in the ring, Cope hits an impaler on Mox. Cope sets for a spear, and Shafir grabs Cope to stop him. Cage pulls Shafir off the apron, and she slaps him. Cage then gives her a low blow.
It’s now time for Young Buckery as they work over Yuta and Garcia. Then it’s time for everyone to get a big move on the last person in the ring until Cope gets a rollup for two. Cope gets a spear, and the ref can’t count it because Yuta is holding the ref. Cope comes off the ropes and knocks Matt off the apron, and Mox gets the rollup with a handful of tights for the pin and the win.
Winners: The Death Riders
We got a hype video for the match between Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega at All In.
Tommaso Ciampa vs. Komander vs. Andrade El Idolo - For the first spot in the Casino Gauntlet Match at All In
Ciampa attacks Komander first and drops him in the corner. Ciampa and Andrade trade blows until Ciampa is knocked down into the corner. Komander gets a tijeras off the top rope. Ciampa goes after Komander, but Andrade trips Ciampa and pulls him to the floor. Komander then runs the top rope and dives onto both of them on the floor.
Andrade returns to the ring and then hits a tornado over the top rope on Komander on the floor. Andrade then takes a picture with a woman at ringside as we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, Ciampa and Andrade clothesline each other down. They get to their feet and throw hands in the middle of the ring, and Andrade gets a flying forearm. Andrade gets a big boot on Komander and hits him with the Three Amigos. Ciampa knocks Andrade off the top and then tosses Komander to the apron and hits him with a running knee strike. Ciampa then stomps on Andrade’s pants and hits Project Ciampa on Komander for two.
Ciampa goes to the top, and Andrade joins him there. They fight on top, and Komander gets a leaping poisonrana on Andrade. Ciampa hits a leaping driver from the top on Komander for two. Andrade gets a running double knee strike on Ciampa for two, broken up by Komander. Komander and Andrade trade attacks on Ciampa until Andrade hits a DDT on Komander for the pin and the win.
Winner and getting the first entry into the Casino Gauntlet at All In: Andrade El Idolo
Andrade grabs a mic and speaks to the crowd in Spanish. He then says he holds the National Championship, but he wants more. He will win the Gauntlet match at All In and then go on to win the World Title. He says he will be winning the title for Latinos and for Mexico. And he gets his catchphrase “How you know” in.
MJF’s music hits, and he sneaks into the ring behind Andrade with a chair and drops Andrade. He takes his Dynamite Diamond Ring back and waits for Andrade to get up and gets a running right hand with the ring. He then beats down Andrade in the ring and tosses him to the floor. He then heels Andrade and Mexico once he grabs a mic. He is also holding the special world title belt he has had made. He says he is our champion.
MJF says he had the match won until Will Ospreay got involved. He says the main event at All In was his, but he doesn’t care because he always gets what he wants. He says he will be in next week’s Gauntlet match qualifier, then he will dog walk Andrade and win the title. He says the only title to be recognized is his, and he will remind the world he is the one true champion.
We then get a video package for Willow Nightingale vs. Mercedes Moné at All In.
Divine Dominion (Megan Bayne and Lena Kross) and Mercedes Moné vs. The Brawling Birds (Jamie Hayter and Alex Windsor) and Willow Nightingale
Willow calls for Moné to start with her, and Bayne starts instead, so Alex takes Willow's place. They lock up and go to the ropes. Alex gets chops, and Bayne gets a shoulder tackle to drop Alex. Bayne gets a series of shoulder thrusts in the corner and then charges at Alex, who dodges. Hayter tags in and they double-team her, and Willow is tagged in. Willow gets a senton for a one count only.
Moné tags in and gets kicked in the corner. Moné executes two suplexes, and everyone joins in for the third, but since none of them can lift the other, they start throwing hands. Everyone is brawling in the ring. Divine Dominion is sent to the floor. Alex and Willow dive onto them. Moné is sent to the floor, and Hayter dives onto her as we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, Willow has been the babyface in peril and is able to drop Moné and crawls to tag in Hayter. Kross tags in and Alex joins Hayter to work over Kross. Alex tags in and they double-team Kross again. Alex gets a Russian leg sweep with Hayter for two, broken up by Bayne. The Birds and Dominion throw hands in the middle of the ring, and Dominion is able to get German suplexes. The Birds then clothesline Dominion down.
Willow and Moné both tag in, and they throw hands. Willow gets a spinebuster for two. Moné is able to get a Meteora from the middle rope, and it’s time for everyone to get a big move on the last person in the ring. It ends with Willow putting Moné on top and joining her there. Moné knocks her down and misses another Meteora, and Willow gets a clothesline. Dominion attacks Willow, but the Birds get them with suplexes.
Moné and Willow go back and forth, and Willow gets a backslide for the pin and the win.
Winners: The Brawling Birds and Willow Nightingale
Kyle Fletcher (International Champion) w/ Don Callis vs. Speedball Mike Bailey
Kyle brings a mask to the ring and stomps on it before they run the ropes. Kyle gets a big bodyslam. Kyle gets a shoulder tackle, and they go back and forth with takedowns and one counts. Bailey gets a tijeras after walking up the ropes and then walking the ropes. Bailey dives onto Kyle, who catches him and then lawn-darts him into the barricade. Bailey is rolled into the ring. Kyle picks him up, and Bailey escapes out the back and gets a backslide for two. Kyle is sent to the floor, and Bailey hits him with a moonsault from the ring.
They return to the ring, and Bailey gets a series of kicks that take Kyle down and then hits a running shooting star press for two. Kyle is put on top, and Bailey gets a kick before joining him on top. Kyle grabs Bailey and gets a Michinoku driver from the top for two. Bailey rolls to the floor as we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, Kyle is getting a series of chops that send Bailey to the floor. Kyle goes to attack on the floor, and Bailey is able to go to the top rope and gets a beach break on Kyle from the apron to the floor. They return to the ring, and Bailey gets a rollup for two. Bailey gets a spinning tijeras. Bailey gets a spinning rollup for two. Kyle gets a half-and-half suplex and follows with a pickup. Bailey lands on the apron, and Kyle kicks him down the ramp.
Kyle stalks him to the stage. Bailey gets a leaping hurricanrana and then runs up the stairs and gets a moonsault press off of them. They return to the ring, and Bailey gets a Spanish Fly for two. Bailey gets a thrust kick, but Kyle gets a leaping Michinoku driver for two. Kyle picks up Bailey, and then they both tumble over the top to the floor, and Kyle gets a powerbomb onto the apron. Kyle gets a running kick and a brainbuster for two.
Kyle puts Bailey on top and joins him there. Bailey escapes and kicks Kyle and then gets a poisonrana from the top. Bailey goes to the top and hits Ultimo Weapon for two. Bailey gets a sunset flip for two. Kyle gets snake eyes on the second turnbuckle. Kyle puts him on top and hits the turnbuckle brainbuster for the pin and the win.
Winner and still International Champion: Kyle Fletcher
Kazuchika Okada, Hechicero, and Kevin Knight vs. Mistico, Chris Jericho (Corazón de León), and Darby Allin
Okada and Kyle glare at each other as Okada comes to the ring.
Knight attacks Allin before the bell, and everyone is brawling when the bell rings. Knight tosses Allin onto the top of the barricade. The crowd is chanting for Hechicero. Hechicero and Mistico are fighting as Okada and Jericho fight. Things calm down with Knight tagging in, and he lays in blows on Jericho. Jericho is able to catch Knight’s leap and gets a Death Valley driver.
Allin is tagged in, and Knight bails from the ring and tags in Hechicero. Allin gets an armdrag and then punches Knight off the apron, and then dives for Knight, but Okada nails him as he dives as we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, Mistico has been the babyface in peril. Mistico gets a flurry of high-flying moves, and Jericho gets a Codebreaker on Okada. Mistico gets a pin on Knight for two. The crowd is booing Mistico, it seems. Allin tags in and gets a scorpion deathlock on Knight. Jericho holds back Okada, but Hechicero gets him free. Mistico charges at Hechicero, and Hechicero catches him. Mistico gets a spinning tijeras.
Jericho dives onto Okada, Allin gets a Coffin Drop on Knight on the floor, and Mistico dives onto Hechicero. Allin goes to the top, and Knight catches him and hangs him in the tree of woe. Knight goes for a leap, but Jericho gets a Judas Effect. Jericho gets the Walls of Jericho on Okada. Mistico gets La Mistica on Hechicero, and Allin gets a Coffin Drop on Knight for the pin and the win.
Winners: Mistico, Chris Jericho (Corazón de León), and Darby Allin
We then get a video package of the Women’s Survival of the Fittest match and then last week’s match between Maya World and Persephone, setting up the next match.
Kris Statlander vs. Persephone
They lock up, and Kris forces them to the corner. Persephone forces them to the middle of the ring, and Kris shoves her back. Kris gets an armdrag. They run the ropes. And when Persephone gets a tijeras, Kris makes it a handstand. They fight in the ropes, and Kris clotheslines Persephone to the floor and then dives onto her.
Persephone is rolled back into the ring, and Kris tries for a guillotine legdrop, but Persephone dodges it and dives onto Kris. Persephone gets in Thunder Rosa’s face at ringside. Kris is rolled back in the ring, and Persephone grabs a rear chinlock. We go to picture-in-picture as she holds on.
When we return to full screen, Persephone hits a forward suplex, and Kris is able to grab Persephone for a facebuster and a back suplex. Kris then charges into Persephone in the corner and gets a Blue Thunder bomb for two. They go back and forth, and Kris gets a seatbelt for two. Persephone gets a lariat, and both women are down. They throw hands in the middle of the ring, and Persephone gets a thrust kick. Kris gets a drop toe hold, and then a splash across the shoulders. Kris goes to the top and misses a 450 splash.
Persephone gets a cover for two. Persephone goes to the floor and tries to take Rosa’s belt. Rosa is pulled over the rail, and Persephone nails Rosa with the title belt. Kris then dives onto Persephone and the referee. Kris gets a back suplex. Kris rolls Persephone into the ring and gets a rollup. Hikaru Shida nails Kris with the title belt. Persephone gets a frog splash and still no referee. The ref finally gets to the ring and counts the pin and the win.
Winner: Persephone
Maya World and Hyan run to the ring as Persephone leaves.
We get a video package for the challenge from Mark Davis to Will Ospreay for their main event street fight later tonight.
The Demand (Ricochet, Toa Leona, and Bishop Kaun), AEW Trios Champions vs. Hangman Adam Page, Bandido, and Brody King
Hangman’s team is played to the ring by a mariachi band.
The Demand attacks before the bell, and everyone is brawling in and out of the ring. Page gets a spinning tijeras on Toa. Brody and Kaun are tagged in, and Brody gets a top rope flipping armdrag on Toa and Kaun. Bandido gets an assisted dive on The Demand on the floor. It’s then time for Bandido’s team to do the Macarena, which allows The Demand to attack. Kaun hits a backbreaker on Bandido on the top turnbuckle as we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, Bandido has been the babyface in peril. Bandido is able to get a dropkick, and Ricochet tries for a springboard attack, and Page is tagged in. Page runs wild, Page finishes his run with a Liger Bomb on Ricochet for two, broken up by Kaun. Brody and Bandido are fighting Toa and Kaun as Page and Ricochet fight in the ring. Ricochet knocks Page to the floor and The Demand dive onto all of Page's team.
Page is returned to the ring where all of The Demand work him over, and Ricochet gets a running shooting star press for two. Brody tags in; he takes out Ricochet and gets a cannonball on Toa and Kaun in the corner. Ricochet drops Brody, but Page gets a lariat on Ricochet. Bandido tags in and tries for a 21 Plex on Ricochet, who lands on his feet. Toa tags in, and when Bandido goes to the top, Kaun tries to attack him, but Page knocks him to the floor.
Toa is able to pick up Brody, Page, and Ricochet and hits a Samoan drop on all three, and gets a two count on Bandido. We get dives and attacks until it’s just Bandido and Toa in the ring, and Bandido can’t get the 21 Plex. Bandido holds Toa as Page gets a Buckshot Lariat. Bandido holds on with a bridge for the pin and the win.
Winners and NEW Trios Champions: Hangman Adam Page, Bandido, and Brody King
The main event starts at 9:31 CT, so the entire match will be in overtime.
Will Ospreay vs. Mark Davis - Street Fight
Davis comes to the ring with a chair. He throws it at Ospreay, who ducks it. He grabs another chair and brings it to the ring. Davis gets a senton on Ospreay. Davis wedges a chair in the corner. Ospreay gets a series of blows, and Davis gets a knee strike. Ospreay gets a tijeras. Davis goes to the floor, and Ospreay dives onto him. They brawl on the floor, and Ospreay finds a tire on the floor. Davis stops Ospreay and slams Ospreay onto the tire.
They brawl into the barricade, and then they go into the crowd. Ospreay uses the barricade for a 360 leap onto Davis. Ospreay rolls Davis into the ring, and Ospreay gets a leaping elbow strike for one. Davis grabs a chair and nails Ospreay across the back. Ospreay gets a backflip corkscrew kick to the chair that flies back into Davis’s head. Davis goes to the floor, and Ospreay tries for a tijeras. Davis blocks it and slams Ospreay onto the apron.
More chairs are tossed into the ring, and Davis tosses a trash can at Ospreay. Davis then powerbombs Ospreay onto a fan at ringside as we go to picture-in-picture.
When we return to full screen, they are fighting on the stage. Davis bashes a board on Ospreay’s head, and Ospreay tumbles down the stairs. Davis tosses Ospreay into the ring and then Davis tosses more chairs into the ring. Ospreay gets a big kick. Davis finally runs Ospreay into the chair he jammed in the corner at the start of the match. Ospreay is busted open.
Davis nails Ospreay’s back with a chair. Davis grabs a fork and uses it on Ospreay’s head. Ospreay is able to get a drop toe hold into a chair on Davis. Ospreay gets an OsCutter for two. Ospreay grabs the fork and nails Davis over and over with it. Ospreay goes for a Hidden Blade, and Davis gets a clothesline. Davis then hits a cutter on Ospreay onto a barbed wire chair.
Davis uses the barbed wire on Ospreay’s head, and Ospreay is able to toss a chair at Davis when Davis charges at him. They fight on the apron. Ospreay grabs Davis’s swimsuit area, gets a roundhouse kick, and then a piledriver on the apron. Now Davis is busted open. Davis gets into the ring at 9, but Ospreay hits him with Hidden Blade for two. Ospreay gets a crucifix rollup for two. Davis gets a piledriver for two.
Davis wraps the barbed wire around his arm, and Ospreay catches him for a Styles Clash for two. Ospreay gets a series of elbow strikes, and then wraps the barbed wire around Davis’s neck before getting a Hidden Blade for the pin and the win.
Winner: Will Ospreay
The energy of this show was just amazing. They didn’t slow down for promos, but just gave straight-ahead crowd-pleasing matches. A really fun show, but we are desperately out of time!
