Welcome to this week's TNA Thursday Night Impact on AMC report!
TNA is in Philly and on the call is Tom Hannifan and Matt Rehwoldt, one of the best duos for pro wrestling anywhere right now in my opinion.
They show new TNA International Champion Jason Hotch entering with his family. They are going celebrate the new champion tonight.
Aimee Garcia, who I LOVED on Lucifer and is now part of the Walking Dead franchise is again at ringside.
TNA Tag Team Champion Matt Hardy with Jeff Hardy vs. Ryan Nemeth with Nic Nemeth
Matt went right after Ryan at the bell but was worked over in the corner. Hardy came back with a clothesline and drilled Ryan's face into the buckles over and over. Hardy pulled Ryan out of the corner by the legs and dropped him into a sit-out powerbomb. That's a move that was invented by Mike Bucci back in 1996. Nemeth regained control and worked him over with right hands. Hardy worked over Nemeth with body shots but was caught and hit with a suplex.
Hardy battled back but was caught with an uppercut. Nemeth ripped Hardy's face across the ropes, then played to the crowd, which booed him. Nemeth cinched in a side chinock. The crowd rallied Matt to fight back. He did and drilled Ryan with a clothesline. Nic tripped Matt, setting up Jeff drilling him on the floor. Matt finally scored the Twist of Fate and pinned Nemeth.

No real surprise as to who would win here. Matt Hardy, who is always walking wounded, looked good here. I liked the new green outfit Hardy was sporting as well.
Gia Miller interviewed TNA Knockouts Champion Xia Brookside about her match against Wendy Choo tonight. Brookside she approaches the match as the champ and the top Knockout in the company. Choo thinks she's bringing the title to NXT but we've seen others try that and look what happened. Elayna Black walked into the scene as Xia told her to watch what happens tonight and told Black she'll think twice about coming for the title. Black said she doubts that. Xia said she's done and walked off.
Whatever happened to Lei Ying Lee?
They showed footahe of Jason Hotch celebrating with his family last week after TNA went off the air. Hotch was interviewed backstage with his family by Gia Miller. She asked what the victory meant to him. Hotch said that for years, people thought he was a supporting character or a sidekick, but he proved everyone wrong. He didn't just win it alone, his family did it. They were there for him when he needed them and now he's champion. He will never talk winning the belt for granted. Rich Swann and BDE congratulated him.
TNA Knockouts TV Championship Tournament: Mara Sade vs. Heather by Elegance (with The Elegance Brand)
They grapple with Sade controlling Heather early on. Sade leapfrogged her but was attacked and driven to the mat. Heather worked her over on the mat and cinched in an armbar. Sade came back to drill her into the ropes while leaping through them to the floor. Heather regained control and maintained it for some time. Sade surprised her with a near pinfall. Heather took her back to the ring and attempted a cross armbreaker. Sade turned that into a pinfall attempt, then muscled Heather up, sending her into the buckle. Sade dropkicked her in the corner but sold her arm from the earlier attacks. They battled back and forth. Sade nailed a series of clotheslines. Heather was sent into the corner. Sade hit a monkey flip out, then drilled her head into the mat over and over. Sade nailed a powerbomb for a two count. Heather came back with a dropkick that sent Sade to the floor. Sade drilled her into the apron. Sade nailed a dropkick off the ring steps and tossed Heather back to the ring. Sade nailed her and went for a moonsault but was caught on the ropes by Heather. Heather knocked her to the mat, hit a missile dropkick and scored the pinfall.

Sade worked hard in what was likely her final TNA appearance.
Moose cut a promo. He said he's had lots of nicknames and there's a reason. He's respected in TNA, because they know Moose is the dependable one. Everyone else can leave but he remains. Frankie Kazarian claims he's the King of TNA, but he hasn't earned it - at Lockdown, they will give the people what they want to see and Kazarian can earn the name.
Jason Hotch told his wife he had to do some promotional things and would be back. Mustafa Ali entered the room and sat next to her. Hotch's wife tensed up. He told her to relax, nothing was wrong. He was hurt Hotch bit the hand that feeds him, so has to take back the International title. He said that no matter what happens to Jason, he'll always take care of Jason's daughter, then told his wife, "I'll still take care of you too." He walked off. Sleazy stuff.
Brian Myers with Bear Bronson vs. KC Navarro
Navarro looked good early but was tripped by Bear when he went for a dive. Bronson was caught and ejected from the arena. Bronson refused but Ricky Sosa arrived with a chair and was taken to the back. Navarro tricked Myers to trip into the ropes and nailed a 619 kick. Navarro was in control but Eddie Edwards hit the ring and speared him.

Fabian Aichner hit the ring for the save. They brawled.
Santino Marella came out He announced a tag team match....
Brian Myers & Eddie Edwards vs. KC Navarro & Fabian Aichner
The heroes hit stereo dives on The System after dragging them back toward the ring from the entrance aisle. Navarro worked over Edwards with punches in the corner. Aichner tagged in and worked ovr Edwards, sending him into the corner. Navarro tagged in and came off the ropes, attacking the arm. Navarro followed up with a series of knees across the arm. The System regained control and when the referee was distracted, Alisha pulled Navarro's hair in the corner.
Aichner was able to tag in and drilled Myers, scoring several two counts. The System took control on Aichner and worked him over for some time, tagging in and out. Aichner was able to hit a moonsault t stun Myers and made the hot tag to Navarro. Navarro nailed a Slingblade and Edwards and splashed Myers in the corner. He cleaned house and nailed a twisting DDT on Edwards for a two count. Aichner tagged in but Myers ran interference, allowing Edwards to club him with a clothesline. Aichner gained control and hit Edwards with a butterfly superplex. Navarro came off the top with a splash (think the old Power & Glory team finisher) but Myers broke it up at the last second.
The battle continued.. Navarro nailed Myers. Alisha handed Edwards the Singapore Cane and he drilled Navarro. Eddie scored the pin with a package piledriver.

Ricky Sosa hit the ring with a chair to chase off The System.
The TNA Injury Report: They started with Rehwoldt going off about how great Nic Nemeth is. Mara Sade is in immense pain and is being evaluated. Rosemary is missing.
Backstage, The Hardys told The Righteous they are now brothers through battle and offered them respect.
Jason Hotch was furiously looking for Mustafa Ali backstage. He grabbed him and threw Ali against a wall. He accused Ali of putting his hands on his wife, which Ali denied. John Skyler said it was just a misunderstanding, which led to Mila Moore and Tasha Steelz going at each other verbally. Everyone was held apart as Hotch said he'd settle it at Lockdown in a steel cage. So, that's added to the Chicago card. Hotch told Skyler he was done with Order 4 and told him to come with him. Skyler told him he needs this job. Hotch said fine, and walked off, leaving Skyler and Steelz looking at each other. There was your soap opera moment for the week.
The Righteous came to the ring. The Hardys tried to end them in the Lake of Reincarnation but you can't drown an idea. Their war with the Hardys is over. The forgotten outnumber the celebrated. They said everyone watching, if the world has forgotten your name - good. It's time to watch them. They are looking for those who are looking to bloom into something greater.
Santino was talking to Harley Hudson when Alisha Edwards and Jade Stone began to argue. Hudson stood up to Edwards trying to threaten her, so Alisha said she'd see her in the ring.
They went to a vignette where Allie was seeking to find Rosemary. She encountered tarot cards and picked them up, then looked at the screen. FADE OUT.
AJ Francis vs. Home Town Man
Francis worked over HTM. Elijah's guitar strummed and he was seen on the stage. Distracted, HTM rolled up Francis for the pin.

They went to Tom Hannifan interviewing X-Division Champion Cedric Alexander. His career was always someone else getting the credit instead of the person who scratched and clawed their way to the top. He said you can't ever mention Leon Slater without mentioning how Cedric took his record away. Leon showed up and said if he can't keep Leon's name out of his mouth, let's talk about how Leon pinned him last week and now he won't give him a title rematch despite all the shots he gave Cedric. Cedric said he earned them and Leon is never getting another shot. He said Leon is disgusting and had everything handed to him. He earned nothing. He said the Hardys and AJ Styles handed him everything. He never earned a thing. Slater asked Cedric if he had jealousy. Alexander said he took 17 years of his life to achieve. Leon got it in 2, because he didn't earn it. He said all Slater did was show up and benefit from others. As long as he's champion, Slater will never touch the title again. He'll do everything in his power to make this fairy tale story ends and he erases everything Slater has done in this business. He walked off, leaving Slater sitting there.
Daria Rae told Kazarian Moose challenged him to Lockdown match. Kazarian suggested they make it escape the cage. He ripped on Moose for being a mascot for the company and said he will find out what it means to be in the cage with the King of TNA.
TNA Knockouts Champion Xia Brookside vs. NXT's Wendy Choo
Xia drilled her with chops but Choo returned the volley. Choo nailed a Lou Thesz Press. Xia went to the floor to stop the momentum, but Choo followed her and worked her over before throwing her back in. Xia took control and tied Choo to the tree of woe before nailing her with a running knee. Xia was in control but Choo regained the momentum. Xia nailed a backcracker for a two count. The crowd chanted for Wendy, who went for a sleeper. Choo nailed a Uranage for a two count. Wendy went for a sleeper but was run backwards into the ropes. Xia nailed her with Darkside for the pin.

Elayna Black came out and looked upon the scene as she's the next challenger. She came to the ring and is somehow now a babyface.
Backstage, Jeff Hardy was painting. TNA Champion Nic Nemeth entered the room and said it's a big surprise, Hardy hanging out in the back. He said it wasn't even hard to find him. He said he can see through people. Jeff tries to find the light in people but Nic only knows facts and only sees dark. He continued to rant as Hardy quietly kept working on his art. Nemeth said he knows Hardy can hear him, even if he doesn't understand him. He sees through Jeff Hardy's sh**. Everyone knows there's not a person alive better than Nemeth at wrestling. He's amazed Hardy sits there as Nemeth is getting in his head. Hardy has been champion before but this isn't doing it. He said that he knows Hardy has a nice life but Nemeth knows he's not going to be the one to beat Nemeth. He doesn't know how he's never beaten Hardy in the ring. Hardy can be world champion one day, but he won't be beating Nemeth for it. Nemeth signed the contract. Hardy stopped painting and signed the contract. Then, he went back to his art. Nemeth told him to enjoy his last Zen moments. He's never going to lose the title. He walked off as Hardy watched.
