Former WWE Champion Kevin Owens returned as a surprise competitor in the opening match of Summerslam Night Two.
PWInsiderElite.com reported yesterday that Owens, 42, would return as part of The Smackdown brand and was in Minneapolis for Summerslam.
Owens won a Fatal Four Way, pinning Sami Zayn, to become the top contender for CM Punk's WWE Championship, so he's back in a major program from the start.
Before today, Owens last wrestled at the 2025 Elimination Chamber PPV before needing neck surgery. In recent months, he has been a Coach on WWE LFG's latest season.
