AEW DYNAMITE REPORT

AEW Dynamite is live from The Pinnacle in Nashville, TN. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and Taz.

In the back, Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay each say if the other needs to tag out, they will be there for each other. Jon Moxley shows up and sarcastically says there is no tension in the room.

Kevin Knight (TNT Champion) vs Darby Allin

Knight is cautious as he comes to the ring as if he is concerned Darby will do something, and he’s right as Darby dives onto him before the bell. Darby sends Knight over the barricade and attacks him in the crowd. Darby works over Knight at ringside and then dives from the top of the ringpost to Knight on the timekeeper’s table. 

They roll into the ring, and the bell rings. Darby is selling a leg, and Knight is selling a hip as they fight on the entrance ramp. Knight knocks Darby off the ramp, and Darby lands crotch first on the top of the barricade. Knight then gets a leaping back elbow into him. Knight pulls the steel steps away from the ring and slams Darby’s head into the steps. He then catapults Darby into the underside of the steel steps. 

Darby is rolled into the ring, and Knight covers for two, and Darby is busted open. Knight beats Darby down and lays in stomps for good measure. Knight puts Darby on top and joins him there. They fight back and forth, and Darby gets an avalanche Code Red from the top and then another Code Red for two. 

Darby goes to the top and puts Knight’s arm in the top of the ringpost and hammers it there. Knight goes to the floor, and Darby hits a coffin drop from the top as we go to picture-in-picture.

When we return to full screen, both men are struggling to get to their feet. They are both up at the same time. Knight gets a big boot and follows with a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker for two. Knight starts slapping Darby and yelling at him to get up. Darby is able to get up and grabs Knight, but Knight shoots him into the referee. Knight nails Darby and then grabs his belt. Darby is able to grab Knight and gets a scorpion death drop. 

Darby grabs the belt and tosses it to the mat and goes to the top. Knight knocks him off the top and then puts him in the tree of woe. Knight goes to the top and hits a coast-to-coast dropkick. Knight goes back to the top and hits the UFO splash for the pin and the win.

Winner and still TNT Champion: Kevin Knight

Kyle Fletcher comes to the ring as Knight is still in the ring, pacing back and forth. Kazuchicka Okada comes to the ring as well. The rest of the Don Callis Family comes to the ring to speak with Renee Paquette during the commercial. Mark Davis says he may not have to fight Andrade since he laid him out. Kevin Knight says he broke Kyle’s record number of TNT title defenses, and he did it without any help. 

Kyle then gets in Knight’s face and says he really hopes Knight wins the World Title on Sunday, and he doesn’t need help either, so everyone will be banned from the ringside Sunday night as well in the next match. 

Kyle Fletcher and Kazuchicka Okada vs Brodido (Brody King and Bandido)

Don Callis joins commentary.

Bandido and Kyle start the match by locking up, and Kyle forces them to the ropes. They break clean and lock up again, and Bandido backs them into the ropes and breaks clean. They lock up again and trade holds back and forth. They shove each other and then run the ropes. Bandido gets a spinning arm drag followed by a drop kick. King tags in and they charge into Kyle in the corner. Bandido drops Kyle on the top rope, and Brody gets a back suplex. Brody drops Bandido on Kyle and then follows with a senton. Bandido pulls Kyle into a casadora, and Brody chops him for two.

Kyle is worked over in Brodido’s corner as Bandido tags in. They try to suplex each other, and Bandido eventually escapes out the back, and Kyle gets to his corner for Okada to tag in. Brody tags in and they throw hands. Okada and Kyle start to double-team Brody, and when Bandido gets into the ring, Kyle and Okada hit him with a two-man flapjack as we go to picture-in-picture.

When we return to full screen, Bandido is the babyface in peril. Bandido is able to escape and leap over Kyle and tags in Brody, who cleans house. Brody gets a big lariat on Okada for two. Okada escapes from a Gonzo Bomb and tries for a rainmaker, but Brody kicks his arm. Okada gets a neckbreaker. 

Kyle is tagged in and gets a running kick in the corner, and Brody fights off the brain buster. Brody gets a swinging slam for two. Bandido tags in as does Kyle, and they throw hands. Bandido tries a springback moonsault, but Kyle is able to kick him in the midsection. Bandido gets a hurricanrana for two, broken up by Okada. Brody and Okada fight on the floor. Bandido tries for a 21 Plex, but Kyle holds onto the ropes. Bandido gets a pop-up slam for two. Brody tags in and gets a cannonball on Kyle in the corner. Bandido gets a frog splash on Kyle for two.

Bandido tries a flip over Brody, but Okada gets a dropkick and then accidentally gets a Rainmaker on Kyle. Okada and Brody fight to the floor, and Bandido gets the 21 Plex for the pin and the win.

Winners: Brodido

Okada is apologizing to Kyle as the Family comes to the ring, but then we see Okada looking slyly at Kyle when Kyle isn’t looking. The Family gets on the apron, but Andrade El Idolo comes to the ring for the save.

We get a hype video for Chris Jericho as the Painmaker. 

Mick Foley comes to the ring as we go to commercial. He is out to interview Thekla and Willow Nightingale. Thekla comes out with Julia Hart and Skye Blue, and she sends them to the back. She puts over that she won a belt in Stardom. Willow comes out by herself and says it’s nice to see Mick, the crowd, and Thekla face to face. Willow says she is ready for their match on Sunday. 

Thekla says it is good to have Willow back and says Willow is made of happiness and now she is talking to the Toxic one. She doesn’t buy Willow’s smile because she is poisoned inside, and she will beat the poison out of her. Willow says Thekla’s toxic act is just an act, but Thekla talks big because she feels small. Willow says Thekla is a shortcut for her to get to the Women’s World title. 

Mick says he sees a lot of himself in Willow since they both smile through the pain. Thekla tells Mick to shut up, and Willow shuts her down and says Thekla is acting like a dumb bitch. Willow puts over Mick, and she will do the same type of sick and twisted things Mick used to do to Thekla. They both have a lot to lose. Thekla says Willow stole her line, but on Sunday, when her dreams are shattered, smile anyway. 

Thekla gets a cheap shot on Willow and then spikes Willow with the microphone. Willow rolls into the ring, and Thekla takes off both of her title belts and takes her belt off to use on Willow. When Thekla gets in the ring, Willow hits the pounce, and Thekla is sent to the floor.

We then get a hype video for Hikaru Shida vs Maya World on Sunday.

Jay White vs Clark Connors

White still has David Finlay’s shillelagh.

Connors goes to the floor to stall. Jay follows him, and when Jay gets into the ring, Connors goes to the floor again. Once they are both in the ring, Jay tries for a Blade Runner, and Connors goes to the corner to stop the move. Connors gets a series of strikes. They run the ropes, and Jay gets a shoulder tackle. 

Jay lays in chops and then an arm bar takedown and keeps the arm as Connors works to his feet. Jay takes him down again. Jay pulls Connors down by his hair for one. They go to the floor, and Jay drops him on the apron and then lays in chops in the corner. Connors rolls to the ramp, and Jay tosses him back in the ring. Connors gets a neck snap on the top rope and then spears Jay through the ropes on the entrance ramp.

Connors mocks Jay on the apron. Connors gets a charge into Jay’s head as it hangs off the apron. Connors sets up a chair, then lights a match and puts it out on Jay’s shoulder. He then puts Jay in the chair and charges at Jay, but Jay is able to dodge the dive, and Connors goes into the chair. 

They return to the ring, and Jay gets a dragon screw. Jay gets a series of blows and a back body drop. Jay gets a series of strikes in the corner and then gets a DDT in the middle of the ring for two. Jay tries for Blade Runner, but Connors goes for the eyes and hits a spear. They go back and forth, and Jay gets a uranage for two. Connors backs Jay into the corner and gets a series of blows and hits another spear. Connor tosses Jay. Jay gets a series of blows and then a cutthroat suplex. Connors is able to reverse the blade runner for a rollup for two.

Connor gets a power slam for two. Connors goes for a spear, but Jay is able to grab a guillotine choke, which puts Connors out.

Winner: Jay White

After the match, David Finaly grabs the shillelagh and nails Jay, but the Bang Bang Gang comes to the ring for the save.

In the back are Cage and Cope, and they are attacked by Pac and Claudio Castagnoli and left lying.

Divine Dominion (Megan Bayne and Lena Kross) AEW Women’s Tag Team Champions vs Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart and Skye Blue) - No DQ

Hart and Blue start the match by choking Maybe and Kross with Kendo sticks. Bayern and Kross are able to take them away, but they are knocked to the floor. Skye gets a PK on Kross, and Hart gets a senton on Bayne. Skye starts tossing plunder into the ring, and a table is set up at ringside. 

Everyone returns to the ring, and Hart and Skye get superkicks. Skye uses a kendo stick as Hart puts Kross in a tarantula. Hart accidentally nails Skye with a screwdriver. Hart and Kross fight in the ring, and Hart walks the ropes, but Kross is able to drop her face-first on a chair on the top turnbuckle. 

Skye is busted open, and Bayne suplexes her into the ring. Bayern tosses a chair at Skye in the corner as we go to picture-in-picture.

When we return to full screen, Hart and Skye put Bayne through a table at the top of the ramp. They then hit a face plant on Kross for two. Bayne is crawling to the ring, and Kross takes Hart and Skye down with kicks. Bayern makes it to the ring and gets a big kick and a German suplex on Hart for two, with Skye breaking it up by shoving Kross into them. Everyone gets a dropkick on someone from the other team until everyone is down. 

Everyone grabs their title belts, and they line up in the ring. They miss with belts, and the Sisters get DDTs, and Skye gets a two-count on Kross. Kross puts Skye on top as Bayne and Hart brawl on the floor. Kross is pulled head down on the top turnbuckle, and Skye kicks her head. Skye then goes to the top, and Bayne grabs her and chokeslammed her through the table at ringside. 

Hart is able to get an octopus stretch on Bayne. Bayne powers out and tombstones Hart. Bayern and Kross get a double chokeslam on Hart for the pin and the win.

Winners and still Women’s Tag Team Champions: Divine Dominion. 

In the back, the Bang Bang Gang calls for a double chain match with The Dogs. 

Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay, and Jon Moxley vs. Brian Cage, Jake Doyle, and Hechicero

Ospreay and Hechicero start the match, and they immediately go to arm bars and mat wrestling. They break and run the ropes. Ospreay gets a tejaris and Omega tags in. He gets an arm bar and tags in Ospreay. Mox tags in and they keep tagging each other in as they work Hechicero’s arm. Ospreay tells Omega to tag in Mox, and Omega finally does. Hechicero rakes Mox’s eyes and tags in Doyle, who stomps down Mox in the corner. 

Mox tosses him to the floor and dives into him, running into the announce desk. They return to the ring, and Doyle runs Mox into his corner. As Doyle distracts the ref, Cage and Hechicero work over Mox. Ospreay is tagged in and gets a series of kicks on Doyle. Cage tags in and gets a stalling vertical suplex that Ospreay turns into a cutter. Doyle takes out Omega and Ospreay, and Hechicero works over Mox on the floor as we go to picture-in-picture.

When we return to full screen, Ospreay has been the babyface in peril. Ospreay gets a backflip insigiri on Cage and has to decide who to tag in, and he tags in Omega, who beats down Cage and gets You Cannot Escape for two on Cage. Cage gets an F5 and tags in Hechicero. Hechicero gets a rising knee strike in the corner and then a reverse figure four. Hechicero gets a juji gitame on Omega, and Mox stomps on Hechicero. Omega and Mox fight Cage and Doyle. They then fight  Hechicero, and Ospreay takes him down. 

Omega, Mox, and Ospreay get the forever charges in the corner on Hechicero, and Mox gets a cutter on him. Ospreay dives onto Doyle on the floor. Omega gets a German suplex on Cage with Mox’s help and then follows with a snapdragon suplex. Mox gets a full nelson on Hechicero, and Omega goes for a knee strike, but Hechicero dodges it so that it hits Mox.

Hechicero gets a flying guillotine for two on Omega. Cage gets a pump hand knee strike. Doyle gets a big elbow strike for two, broken up by Ospreay. Hechicero goes to the top, and Cage and Doyle pull up Omega and Ospreay. Mox knocks Hechicero off the top. Ospreay and Omega get a Hidden Blade/V-Trigger combination on Hechicero for the pin and the win.

Winners: Kenny Omega, Will Ospreay, and Jon Moxley

Omega and Mox have words after the match, and Ospreay tries to get between them. Omega knocks Ospreay down, and the Young Bucks show up. Everyone is arguing in the ring. The Bucks, Mox, and Ospreay are fighting. Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta hit the ring. Omega takes them out, but Knight attacks Omega with his TNT Title belt. 

We end the show with Kevin Knight holding the TNT and World titles, and we are desperately out of time.
