LUKE HAWX ANNOUNCES COUNTDOWN TO RETIREMENT WITH 100 FINAL MATCHES

By Mike Johnson on 2026-07-21 21:22:00

Luke Hawx announced the following on his Facebook:

"It's time to start writing the final chapter in my professional wrestling story.......

Wow, this is kinda hard to write and I've been sitting on it for a while now. I wasn't even sure the best way to put this out but I just talked about it on Ernest Miller's podcast so I guess a good ol social media post is best as well...That being said, let's get into it

God willing I'm able to stay healthy, I estimate that I have somewhere between 50 to 100 matches left in my career. And that's NOT a lot, not at all...

I want every single one of those matches to mean something in some way, shape,or form. Maybe it will be my opponent, maybe it will be a promotion I enjoy being at, or one I always wanted to be at but never had the opportunity. Either way, every single thing will be meaningful.

For the last 27 years, pro wrestling has took me on a wild ride and opened up a whole new life and world to me... That life & world was the Television & Film industry. And as most of you know, Television & Film provided me with amazing career & opportunities. It gave me a life I love and I am so thankful for.

And because of that, I was able to provide a lot of opportunities not just for myself, but for my team at WildKat Sports & Entertainment . As well as many, many other wrestlers and people too. I know I can't wrestle forever, especially at the level I hold myself to. So that's why I'm grateful that wrestling provided me with a film career.

Right now I currently wrestle around 20-30 matches a year (give or take)at 45 years old. It's all my schedule will allow me to. And God willing, I want to go out on my own terms and Id like to do it at 50 years old. Thats my goal. Have my last match at 50 years old. That means that's 5 years away.... and if I only wrestle 20 or so matches a year, that means I only have about 100 matches left????

So yeah, it ain't tomorrow..... But it will be here before you know it! Soooo, I want to make sure to cross off some bucket list shit while I can and I want to make sure everything I do truly means something... Something I want to do and/or something to help some people on their way up the ladder.

This 1st match is a real meaningful one to me...

Ernest "The Cat" Miller and Glacier aka The Blood Runs Coldhave agreed to reunite and wrestle SLIME SZN in tag team match at the Wildkat September 5th return event in Kenner.

This is super historic as it's the 1st time they are reuniting since their split in WCW in 1998, which happened to be in Louisiana!

This is so F'n amazing for me! And to have this opportunity to be able to kick off my final 100 matches is undescribable. I'll be sharing more as we move forward"
